Despite that, the board of education passed a budget which is anticipated to cut into the district’s $2.6 million fund balance by $511,000 to meet the state required deadline for putting a budget in place for next year.
"On the expenditure side, the district still is negotiating contacts with three employee groups. That is balanced by a positive note in health insurance costs and retirement. The health insurance premiums are expected to actually drop by one percent this year, after staying stable the past two years. Annese said retirement contributions to the state are also expected to drop."
