Michigan not among states wanting to jam cell phone signals at prison facilities
"An influx in contraband cell phones in prisons has led some state corrections departments across the country to consider jamming telecommunications signals within prison facilities.
Last week officials from two dozen states signed a petition asking the Federal Communications Commission to allow the blocking, which is currently a criminal act. Michigan was not among them, because officials say smuggled cell phones aren't a big problem here."
