Today is anniversary of Michigan's hottest temperature, but not from where you would expect it | MLive.com:
"The hottest temperature recorded in Michigan was 112°, and it happened in Mio, in far northern Michigan.
In fact, as you head south in Michigan, the highest temperature ever recorded at a location seems to go down. Saginaw had an all-time record high of 111° and Flint had a record high of 108° on the same day, July 13, 1936.
Grand Rapids also hit 108°, but that was a week earlier in 1936."
