Holland-Grand Haven is safest mid-sized metro area in U.S., says insurer | MLive.com:
 "West Michigan gets high marks for safety, according to a national insurance company.
Grand Rapids, Holland and Grand Haven each were included in a list of the country’s safest metro areas, ranked by Farmers Insurance Group.
The Grand Rapids-Wyoming area was ranked second in the list of the 20 “most secure” large metropolitan areas with a population more than 500,000.
 The city landed between Bethesda, Md., which took first, and Pittsburgh, Pa., at third.
The Holland-Grand Haven area was ranked first in the 20 “most secure” mid-sized cities list with a population between 150,000 and 500,0000 people.
Placing second was Green Bay, Wis., and third was Appleton, Wis."
