Nearly $6 million has been donated to Michigan nonprofits by Consumers Energy, its foundation and its employees this year.
Now the Jackson-based utility is extending its connection to nonprofits by providing more than $320,000 in energy-saving installations or financial help that will lower their utility expenses.
