New Jersey man, 30, killed by carjackers after mall shopping trip with wife | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
"SHORT HILLS, N.J. – Authorities say a man leaving a northern New Jersey mall after shopping with his wife was shot and later pronounced dead.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray says the shooting happened around 9 p.m. Sunday at The Mall at Short Hills when two men confronted a couple returning to their vehicle on the second floor of a parking deck.
Murray says the husband, a 30-year-old Hudson County resident, was shot in the head before the men took off in his silver 2012 Range Rover.
She didn’t immediately know how many times the man had been shot.
A statement from the prosecutor’s office later Sunday said that the man was pronounced dead at Morristown Medical Center at 11:45 p.m.
Police are searching for the couple’s SUV, which has New Jersey license plates."
