"Detroit — Fewer than 6,500 homes and businesses in Metro Detroit remain without power a week after a massive ice storm swept across parts of Michigan.

Jackson-based Consumers Energy reported Friday night that outages were down to 25,000 from 399,000 customers who lost power beginning last Saturday.
The Lansing Board of Water & Light reports on its website that 2,600 customers still have no service. The utility says about 40,000 of its customers had power knocked out."
