"In 2012, 20% of Americans (that’s 42 million Americans for those counting) 25 and older had never been married, which is up from 9% in 1960. Broken down by gender, 23% of men and 17% of women have yet to tie the knot.
Wendy Wang and Kim Parker, the report’s authors, found that many prefer shacking up to having that white picket fence with three little boys and a dog named Skip."
