Muskegon voters' road tax rejection could jeopardize beach warning system and playground | MLive.com:
MUSKEGON, MI -- Voters' rejection of a Muskegon road tax on Tuesday could mean a beach warning system and a large playground for children planned for Pere Marquette beach won't happen, at least for now.
The city commission will be asked to reallocate $70,000 budgeted for the warning system and $200,000 budgeted for the playground to road repairs already completed or in the works, said City Manager Frank Peterson.
