Road repair and fire authority millages up for consideration during countywide election | MLive.com
"MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI - Muskegon County voters will weigh in on two millages proposed to fix the region's crumbling roads and to improve fire services in White Lake during the election being held today, Tuesday, Feb. 24.
The Muskegon County Road Commission has proposed a 10-year, 1.5-mill property tax to fund repair, maintain and improve bridges, primary and local roads and major streets that will be considered by 67 precincts.
Four of those precincts will also consider a 1.65-mill levy pitched by the White Lake Fire Authority that would help fund a new fire station, equipment and vehicles.
The fire authority, not to be confused with the White Lake Ambulance Authority, covers 54 square miles encompassing the City of Whitehall, Fruitland Township and Whitehall Township.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
Residents without a voter ID should be prepared to sign an affidavit to prove their citizenship before casting their ballot."
