Isn't the definition of "non-profit" proof they don't pay their fair share of taxes and volunteer "pay checks"?-----Group sets $7.5M fundraising goal to bring nonprofit theater to downtown Rochester

Group sets $7.5M fundraising goal to bring nonprofit theater to downtown Rochester | Crain's Detroit Business:
"The last time you could see a movie in downtown Rochester, the Detroit Tigers won a World Series, Frankie Goes To Hollywood told the world to "Relax" and one of the top movies of the year, "Beverly Hills Cop," had its own Detroit connections.
Rochester's last theater, The Hills Theatre on Main Street, closed in 1984 after more than 40 years in operation.
The Idle Hour Theatre, later named Avon Theatre, operated 1914-54.
They remained part of the downtown's past — until now.
A 25-person committee, an offshoot of the Rochester-Avon Historical Society, formed three years ago to study the potential of bringing a theater back to Rochester.
Now officially called The Theater Group of Rochester Co., that group is in the process of forming a 501(c)(3) and has set a fundraising goal of $7.5 million to purchase a building on Main Street, renovate it and set up an endowment fund for theater operations.
The nonprofit theater would be run by volunteers."
