Based on data recently released by the BLS (here and here), the chart above shows the top ten most dangerous US jobs (based on the fatal injury rate per 100,000 workers) and the percent of male workers in those occupations.
Compared to the average fatality rate for all workers of 3.3 fatalities per 100,000 workers, the ten occupations above are about 5.5 times (construction) to 33 times more dangerous (logging) than average.
Except for “farmers and ranchers” at 76.2% male, men represent more than 90% of the workers in all of the other 9 most dangerous occupations.
Probably safe to say that the feminists and gender activists will make an exception for demanding perfect gender equality when it comes to workplace fatalities?"
