Mona Shores voters overwhelmingly approve $13.1 million bond proposal | MLive.com:
"NORTON SHORES, MI – Mona Shores voters overwhelmingly approved a $13.1 million "safe, warm and dry" bond proposal Tuesday, six months after they rejected the same request.
The proposal, which will cost homeowners about 0.75 mill in property taxes, will pay for a wide range of repairs and upgrades to schools, from wall tile repair to playground improvements to new windows.
An unofficial vote tally showed the measure passed by a vote of 3,199 to 2,096.
The same request was narrowly defeated by 265 votes in May.
....A facilities needs study conducted in 2014 identified $60 million in infrastructure needs over the next few years.
A Facilities Advisory Committee helped narrow the list to a more workable amount and to address basic needs to keep students "warm, safe and dry.""
