TV Ad Spending Reveals the States Where Trump and Clinton Are Fighting Hardest:
"Hillary Clinton continues to dominate Donald Trump when it comes to overall spending on television advertising.
She not only started spending on general election TV ads two months sooner, but also consistently spends more each week than Trump.
During the week that started Sept. 13, she spent $11.5 million, compared to $2.4 million for Trump.
This includes the nearly $35 million that Clinton has spent on national advertising—national cable, and NBC during the Olympics—which Trump hasn't gone in for yet at all.
But how far will those dollars go toward winning the White House?
You can get insight into where the candidates think TV ads will most improve their chances by examining the dollars spent per electoral vote.
Out of the nine battleground states where Hillary Clinton spent money on TV ads last week, she spent the most per electoral vote in Nevada and Florida.
Meanwhile, Trump advertised in just four states, spending half as much or less per electoral vote as Clinton in each of them.
