What you need to know about these creepy clowns

What you need to know about these creepy clowns | MLive.com:
"Creepy clown sightings are becoming more common by the day, with bizarre reports increasingly permeating social media feeds and everyday conversation.
In all, more than 20 states and 20 Michigan cities have seen incidents involving people dressed as clowns freaking people out or breaking the law.
Here is a little background and updated information on creepy clowns:
  • Where in the world did this start?
South Carolina seems to be where this story had its origins after a string of clown sightings popped up in late August.
The New York Times reports children and adults at an apartment complex said clusters of clowns would try and lure them into the woods, allegedly going as far as offering them money for a trip into the trees.
In what sounds like a plot for season two of "Stranger Things," the children reportedly said the clowns were forest-dwellers who lived in a house by a pond.
Police never confirmed the sightings, and found no evidence of "clown paraphernalia" at the house by the pond.
The Greenville Sheriff's office in South Carolina reports residents living in the apartment complex were so shaken up that they fired shots into the wooded area, according to the N.Y. Times.
Stories of these reported real-life nightmares was enough to spread the epidemic.
  • Wait, has this seriously spread to Michigan?
  • Any serious reports?
  • Are people buying into the credibility of all this?
