Chloe Bressack, Florida teacher, gives gender-neutral lessons to children - Washington Times:
"So when a fifth-grade teacher requested that students address her with nongendered pronouns such as “they” and “them,” it stirred consternation among parents (if not education officials) in the state’s capital city — and abroad.
Chloe Bressack, a 23-year-old math and science teacher at Canopy Oaks Elementary School in Tallahassee, recently sent a letter to parents that has gone viral on social media and made international headlines.
“One thing you should know about me is that I use gender neutral terms,” Ms. Bressack said in the single-page letter. “My prefix is Mx. (pronounced Mix)."

The Quiet Islamic Conquest of Spain
The Quiet Islamic Conquest of Spain
- "Evicted five centuries ago by crusading Christians, the Arabs are back in Spain, using their oil dollars to buy land that was seized from their ancestors by the sword". — James M. Markham, The New York Times, 1981.
- The Madrid daily ABC wrote that 800 mosques in Spain are out of control. The Spanish daily La Razon charged that Gulf donors, such as Qatar, were a source of Spain's Islamization. The Saudis also launched a new Spanish television channel, Córdoba TV, as did Iran.
- They dream of, and work to, regain the "lost Caliphate" of Spain. Some Islamists do it with bombs and car-ramming attacks. Others, more surreptitiously, do it with money and dawa, Islamic propaganda. The second way may be even more effective than the first.
The ceremony in 2003 was announced with bombastic headlines:
"After a wait of more than 500 years, Spanish Muslims, have finally succeeded in building a mosque of their own in the shadow of the Alhambra, once the symbol of Islamic power in Europe".
A troupe from al Jazeera was sent to follow the event: a muezzin climbed to the minaret of the Great Mosque of Granada to call the faithful to prayer for the first time in five centuries..."

ICE nabs nearly 500 aliens in sweep of sanctuary cities - Washington Times:
"U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it netted more than 100 migrants in Los Angeles and Philadelphia each, and dozens more in Baltimore, Chicago, Denver and New York, among other sanctuary jurisdictions.
Of the 498 aliens caught, 310 of them were targets and the other 188 were “collateral” arrests of illegal immigrants whom officers encountered while going after their targets, the agency said.
ICE officials also said they’re seeing an increase in resistance from aliens as they step up enforcement of the law. Through the first 11 months of fiscal year 2017, the agency recorded 37 assaults on officers, compared to just nine assaults in all of 2016."

"New York City's Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina recently announced the new "Free School Lunch for All" for the big Apple's public schools.
This means that the entire public-school population, some 1.1 million students, will now be provided with free lunches irrespective of family income.
Prior to this, approximately 75 percent of the city's students were getting free lunches.
...To the precious few in New York City who worry about the cost of public education, officials say not to fret.
This added expenditure won't adversely affect the school's budget.
It's "cost free" to the city as the tab will be paid out of state and federal funds.
That's me and you.
Incidentally, NYC is not breaking new ground here.

"UN short-circuiting the flow from Libya to Europe by sending migrants to the good ol’ welcoming USA?
Hillary, along with her gal pals Susan Rice and Samantha Power, are the leading culprits in the Obama Administration’s disastrous involvement in the overthrow of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and the creation of a failed state that has become a primary route for the migrant invasion of Europe.
Now we learn that the UN, partially in hopes of saving the present Italian government (Italians are pretty angry about the Libya to Italy express), is planning to open up a refugee holding facility in Tripoli where migrants will be detained until they can be moved to transit centers.
But, guess what!
Most in the transit centers will go to Canada, Norway, and drum roll—the United States.
Hillary gloats about knocking off Gaddafi turning Libya into a completely unstable hell hole, and America gets more refugees!"

NFL players' protests risk stadium funding - Washington Times:
"American taxpayers shelled out billions of dollars to build the stadiums that National Football League players are now using to stage their kneel-down protests of the national anthem.
The players say they have a right to express their displeasure with racism in the U.S. with their protests, but lawmakers say the NFL could be risking its access to the public trough if the team owners don’t get a grip on the situation."

"A Trump supporter attending the University of California, Riverside had his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat stolen from him by a crazed leftist who then went on a psychotic rant that attacked everything from the very idea of free speech to the existence of too many white people in the country.
The shocking video, first released by Campus Reform, began with Trump supporter Matthew Vitale desperately trying to get his property back from the thief who was so lost (see crazy?) that she apparently believed that going to the school’s Student Life Department would help her cause, as if they were going to openly support her obvious crime.
After entering the department the student proceded to act like she was in the right, complaining that, “This guy thought it would be a good idea to go into a conference wearing this f***ing hat.”
“Look at the kind of sh*t he’s wearing. You know what that represents? This represents genocide of a bunch of people,” she ludicrously continued.
That’s right, in the new leftist orthodoxy, literally wearing a hat about making the country great again after years of globalist shenanigans is now openly labeled as support for genocide.
After threatening to burn the hat, the women goes on a disgusting rant against a variety of issues that most Americans cherish.
“F**K freedom of speech, it’s killing people,” she yelled as Vitale tried to explain that he simply wanted his property back and that he was only using his first amendment rights to wear it in the first place.
The so far unidentified women then continued her obvious Marxist screed, claiming that America was never great and that she has always hated the country itself.
“I f**king hate this country because we need to get rid of all ya all,” she continued..."

"Kids today are in no hurry to grow up.
"Kids today are in no hurry to grow up.
Teenagers are increasingly less likely to engage in adult activities like drinking alcohol, working jobs, driving or having sex according to research from San Diego State University and Bryn Mawr College published in the peer-reviewed journal Child Development Tuesday.
With smaller families, longer life expectancy and after-school educational activities, today’s 18-year-olds are looking like 15-year-olds once did, according to Jean Twenge, professor of psychology at San Diego State University and the lead author on the study.
She calls it a “slow-life strategy” where parents have fewer children, “but nurture them more carefully.”
The number of teenagers who tried alcohol between 2010 and 2016 dropped to 67% from 93% between 1976 and 1979.
And the number that had earned money from working dropped from 76% to 55% over the same period.
Teens who had engaged in sexual activity by the end of high school dropped 12% between 1994 and 2016.
The declines in adult activities were consistent across demographic groups, including gender, race, socioeconomic status, region, and in both urban and rural areas, suggesting a major shift is taking place..."NFL Pigskins at the Public Trough – The Conservative Insider

The anti-Trump Democratic Coalition has even filed an ethics complaint alleging that the president’s comments constitute a criminal violation against using government offices “to influence the employment decisions and practices” of a private entity.
Funny. These fair-weather friends of corporate free speech and the First Amendment were nowhere to be found when Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel were vowing to shut down Chick-Fil-A in their towns as government retaliation against the founders’ private religious beliefs.
As for the NFL’s status as a “private” enterprise? That’s some Super Bowl-sized audacity right there. I first started tracking publicly subsidized sports boondoggles with my very first watchdog website, Porkwatch, back in 1999. Since then, taxpayers at all levels of government have foot the bill for football stadiums to the tune of an estimated $1 billion every year."

Countries like England, where nurse shortages (I’m assuming doctor shortages too) have patients dying alone?
Patients are dying alone on hospital wards because staff do not have enough time to care for them, nurses say. The mounting pressure across the UK is also leading to medicines being given late and patients being left in pain.Among the other problems highlighted were:
- Medicines for sepsis, diabetes and Parkinson’s not being given on time
- Patients being left in pain because nurses were too busy
- Child patients going without food as staff had to prioritise treatment
- Patients not being moved, putting them at risk of bed sores
- Patients left in corridors because all the beds were full
- Community staff complaining they were not able to do everything asked of them

Hard Data, Hollow Protests | City Journal:
"The FBI released its official crime tally for 2016 today, and the data flies in the face of the rhetoric that professional athletes rehearsed in revived Black Lives Matter protests over the weekend. Nearly 900 additional blacks were killed in 2016 compared with 2015, bringing the black homicide-victim total to 7,881. Those 7,881 “black bodies,” in the parlance of Ta-Nehisi Coates, are 1,305 more than the number of white victims (which in this case includes most Hispanics) for the same period, though blacks are only 13 percent of the nation’s population. The increase in black homicide deaths last year comes on top of a previous 900-victim increase between 2014 and 2015.
Who is killing these black victims? Not whites, and not the police, but other blacks."

Misdiagnosing the Opioid Crisis – InsideSources:
"As a doctor, nobody wants to see a reduction in deaths from opioid overdoses more than me.
But a condition cannot be treated without making the right diagnosis.
Policymakers in Washington and in state capitals are misdiagnosing the opioid crisis as a doctor-patient problem.
Their policies are coming between doctors and patients.
They are preventing doctors from using their judgment and expertise to ease pain and suffering.
They are making many patients suffer needlessly, with some turning in desperation to the black market.
...While raids on black market drug dealers continue to net hauls from a seemingly endless sea of diverted, smuggled or counterfeit prescription opioids and heroin, policymakers can’t shake free of the myth that the opioid crisis is caused by doctors prescribing opioids to their patients in pain.
The numbers show that isn’t the case.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in July that prescriptions of opioids by health care practitioners have continued their steady decline since 2010..."

"Republicans should have read the latest ObamaCare polls before deciding to give up on repeal. Public support for the law has dropped sharply, while most like the idea of giving states greater control over health care.
On Monday, the latest attempt to repeal and replace ObamaCare hit a wall after Maine Sen. Susan Collins came out against the Cassidy-Graham bill, joining John McCain and Rand Paul. The bill would have turned ObamaCare's subsidies into block grants, and given states wide latitude on how to regulate health insurance."

Why is the FBI trying to enforce NCAA rules? | New York Post
"When exactly did the FBI decide that NCAA regulations were the law of the land?
When did it conclude that, in addition to hunting down terrorists and investigating insider trading, its mandate also included protecting amateurism in college sports?
For years, athletic-shoe companies like Nike and Adidas paid coaches to have their team wear their brand of sneaker.
Were coaches like Rick Pitino, John Thompson and Jim Valvano being bribed by the shoe company representatives?
You certainly could frame it that way.
But nobody did.
Neither law enforcement nor the NCAA ever protested.
In 2006 — to pick just one among the many, many NCAA scandals over the years — two less-than-reputable agents gave the family of the University of Southern California’s star running back, Reggie Bush, gifts and benefits, including the free use of a house, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. They did so in the expectation that Bush would sign with them when he decided to turn pro. (He didn’t.)
Although the university was severely punished by the NCAA, the FBI chose not to look into the matter.
Why would it?
Giving a star athlete’s family the use of a house may be unseemly, and it may violate NCAA’s rules regarding amateurism, but it doesn’t violate the laws of the United States.
Not even close.
And yet on Tuesday, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York — that was Preet Bharara’s old jurisdiction, before the president fired him — announced with great fanfare that it had cracked a college basketball bribery scandal..."

Waiting Your Turn: Wait Times for Health Care in Canada, 2015 Report | Fraser Institute:
"Waiting for treatment has become a defining characteristic of Canadian health care.
In order to document the lengthy queues for visits to specialists and for diagnostic and surgical procedures in the country, the Fraser Insti-tute has—for over two decades—surveyed specialist physicians across 12 specialties and 10 provinces.
This edition of Waiting Your Turn indicates that, overall, waiting times for medically necessary treatment have not improved since last year.
Specialist physicians surveyed report a median waiting time of 18.3 weeks between referral from a general practitioner and receipt of treatment—slightly longer than the 18.2 week wait reported in 2014.
This year’s wait time is 97% longer than in 1993 when it was just 9.3 weeks."
