""The newest model of train to hit the tracks had a bumpy first day.
The R179 model from Bombardier that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority tested Sunday couldn’t last a day on the rails before it was yanked, a source told the Daily News.
First, the train’s emergency brakes kicked in when it ran over a blue bucket that apparently flew onto the tracks from the platform of the 121st St./Jamaica Ave. station on the J line in Queens around 12:15 p.m., crews reported to the MTA.
Riders were forced to leave the train at the next Manhattan-bound stop.
The woes on the tracks continued hours later around 7:30 p.m. when the train had to be taken out of service..."
