Holland cheerleaders receive social justice award for demonstration during national anthem:
"All members of the Holland High School varsity cheerleading team, most of whom knelt during the national anthem before a football game in October, have been recognized by Holland’s Human Relations Commission.
The cheerleaders are the recipients of the 2017 Social Justice Award, given to individuals or groups in the community by the HRC for “exemplifying the virtues of social justice.”
The award and others were presented during a ceremony Jan. 17 at city hall..."
