Ecorse is served by two school districts. The average homestead tax for a residential parcel is $1,235 in the River Rouge school district and $1,208 in Ecorse schools. That's based on an average taxable value of $11,028 for the city's 3,751 residential parcels, which includes vacant lots. (The city has 1,939 occupied dwellings with an average market value of $39,600, based on U.S Census Bureau estimates.
