Ideas sound in themselves have been pushed beyond reasonable limits. Principles have degenerated into slogans. We live in an age that venerates equality and is preoccupied with individual rights. Accordingly, we tend to think of citizenship purely in terms of the equal sharing in individual rights. We live in an age that celebrates diversity and inclusion. We accordingly think that citizenship should be extended to practically anybody without any limitations.
