"More than seven years after he fatally shot their unarmed teen son, George Zimmerman is coming after Trayvon Martin’s parents — for millions of dollars.
The neighborhood watch volunteer is suing Martin’s parents and others for $100 million in a proceeding filed Wednesday in Polk County, Fla.
Zimmerman was acquitted of a second-degree murder charge in 2013, but the suit contends the only reason he was charged in the first place was due to testimony from a “fake witness” — Rachel Jeantel, who at one point was identified as Eugenia Diamond, a nickname — but who the lawsuit alleges are in fact two people.
Both names are listed as defendants in the suit.
In addition, he is suing Trayvon’s parents — Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin — family attorney Benjamin Crump, Crump’s book publisher and prosecutors who tried his case for the killing of the 17-year-old in Sanford, Fla.
...Zimmerman’s suit claims the so-called fake witness had been coached to testify that she was Martin’s girlfriend and that they had been on the phone just before he was shot.
