People are trying to apologize for everything under the sun and the are still getting cancelled. 

The left has no concept of redemption or grace. 

If you are not with them, you are irredeemable and nothing will change that - and woe be unto thee if you are not sufficiently exuberant about their agenda - no matter who you are or what you have done for the cause, they will not hesitate to burn you if you step out of line.
Saying "I'm sorry" to a leftist has about as much impact as saying "Have a nice day.""
