"I have been thinking through the logical endpoints of the idea of “community policing” combined with the “defunding” of the police as a means of reducing or eliminating the supposed epidemic of minority mistreatment at the hands of the police. 

I have finally realized where I have heard this before – these ideas sound a lot like polices, if implemented, that will create rule by “benevolent warlords”, something more common to the pacification of the tribal areas of Afghanistan rather than the streets of major US cities.
But the geniuses behind such theories completely ignore the fact our cities are already in the grip of warlords in the form of gang leadership and the drug cartels, these factions being not so benevolent.

...The dominant power recognizes rule by warlord is far easier than getting agreement from the individual citizens and since the warlord can do things that our Constitution prevents governments from doing, such mundane things like due process, trial by jury and innocent till proven guilty are not impediments to government will. 

Since the warlord has no official role in our constitutional republic and they are free to do whatever they want and in the absence of law enforcement, you can bet your sweet bippy they will.

...It amounts to a dictatorship by proxy.
...Within a few years, every city government that adopts such policies will see everything within their boundaries become more like rural Afghanistan than America...Read all!!!
