homeless crisis in bay area - TheBlaze

Last year, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) actually invited more homeless people to come from other states to pursue "new beginnings" in the Golden State, adding that Californians "have a responsibility to accommodate" these newcomers. Well, it looks like he meant this literally, as according to the Mercury News, government programs and nonprofits are now asking Bay Area property owners to help accommodate the area's nearly 30,000 homeless individuals. Homeless people have taken the governor up on his offer, moving to the Bay Area to take advantage of $820 per month welfare and food stamp provisions as well as notoriously lax law enforcement.
