When morons rule-----California Wants to Ban Chrome Plating

"...I would suspect that industrial chrome use far exceeds any of the recreational uses. 

• Every single hydraulic cylinder, air cylinders, etc. are chrome plated. 

In residential applications include appliances, hangers, plumbing fixtures, cabinet hardware ect.

Chrome is also a component of stainless steel.
