In Arabic, the word HAMAS has dual meaning... 

Firstly, it is an acronym for the terrorist group’s full name, which is:

• Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah -- which in Arabic means “Islamic Resistance Movement.”
• This acronym was chosen because in Arabic, the word “Hamas” also means “zeal” or “enthusiasm.”

"Hamas" is also a Hebrew word (חָמָס)

• In Hebrew, the word "hamas" means violence, wrongdoing, or injustice...

There is one powerfully written passage that speaks of a day when there shall be no more violence or injustice or HAMAS in the land.
Isaiah 60:18,

According to my research, this translates into english as..
"Hamas shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise."
