Virginia officials say the program removing individual noncitizens is above board. The DOJ wants it to end. The Biden-Harris Department of Justice is working frantically to challenge state efforts to remove noncitizens from voter rolls in two states ahead of the election. Just weeks after the DOJ sued Alabama and its top election official over the state's efforts to ensure that only American citizens would get to determine the fate of the state and country, the DOJ filed a lawsuit on Oct. 11 against the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Virginia State Board of Elections, and Virginia Commissioner of Elections, claiming the noncitizen voter purge was too close to Election Day.
