We’re Keeping A List Of Everyone Who Has Called Trump A ‘Fascist’ I & I Editorial Board

You’ve probably been reading in the news lately about how Democrats have started calling Donald Trump a fascist.
They’re saying things like:
  • “The stench of fascism is in the air,” and
  • He wants to “replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf,” and
  • He “displays the supremacist ideology of Nazi Germany.’’
  • And, “He is a fascist, for his program takes immediate and direct aim at (a sector of) the working class.’’
Oh, wait. Those statements weren’t about Trump at all.
  • The first quotation was what California Gov. Pat Brown said about Barry Goldwater in 1964.
  • The second was leveled by Missouri Rep. William Clay against President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s.
  • The third was what George Soros said about George W. Bush in 2003.
  • The fourth was what a leftist rag said about former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in 2011.
The complete list of such accusations against Republicans over the past six decades would choke the internet...
So, it made us laugh when we read the headline in the New York Times that: “Harris and Democrats Lose Their Reluctance to Call Trump a Fascist.” As though this were some sort of shocking new development and not one of the most hackneyed attack lines in history...
