- Problem: 15,000 ships cross the Panama Canal and tariffs on US ships varying from $50,000 to $500,000 to cross it. Most of Panama’s profits come from US shipping and military vessels. Their crossing fees are exorbitant for American military and civilian ships.
- Add to this the increasing influence of Chinese and the US has a problem. The CCP proxies involved in Panama have established a military presence in Panama via their proxi Chinese businesses.
This is against the 1977 agreement that Carter made-a bad deal for America.
- Trump's goal is to get Panama to abide by the 1977 agreements which dictate no other foreign troops in Panama and drive the China’s influence out.
They have reneged on their agreement.
Trump will negotiate; however, if wars break out elsewhere in the world, the Panama Canal which was built by the USA will need undeterred access...
