10 years.
So you are telling us they're gonna take almost half a
billion dollars, $430,000,000, from the taxpayers of Muskegon county and give
to people to spend it on really-really-important-stuff-that-they-promise-will-make-kids-smart?!!!
And safe!!!
What greedy monster could possibly be against that.
The sad reality is that even though this is (it should read $43million...I hope!) a
mistake, it wouldn't surprise me if it was really $430 MILLION.
Whatever the amount, taking more millions of hard earned dollars
from the families and businesses of Muskegon and giving it to unaccountable
bureaucrats with the same old promises, the same old lack of public
accountability, is a bad idea.

MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI -- It's official: Muskegon County voters will be asked in February to approve a county-wide tax increase to fund school technology and security improvements.
...The 10-year millage would raise an estimated $43 million per year, which would be distributed to the 11 traditional school districts on a per-pupil basis. It's estimated that schools would receive about $164 per student.
.......The millage would cost the owners of a home with a market value of $90,000, and a taxable value of $45,000, an additional $45 in property tax per year.
