BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- Ferris State coach Tony Annese shook a player and struck two others on the shoulder pads in a locker room outburst that led to an eight-day suspension last month, records show.
The documents, obtained by MLive.com under the Freedom of Information Act, indicate the Big Rapids school launched an investigation after a complaint by a "concerned individual."

Good bye New York....These folks thought the shrimp (Bloomberg) was a conservative! -----Bill de Blasio Fund-Raises for Emboldened Left

Bill de Blasio Fund-Raises for Emboldened Left | Politicker:
Last night Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio was again the darling of the left.
Headlining a Brooklyn fund-raiser for the group New York Communities for Change, Mr. de Blasio was hailed as a progressive hero and the fruit of a more than decade-long battle by labor groups, grassroots organizations and the Working Families Party to crown one of their own.
“I am so appreciative of not just the support I received and my campaign received, I’m appreciative of all the people who were given hope by New York Communities for Change, who were shown their own power,” said Mr. de Blasio, speaking at the Transport Workers Union Local 100′s headquarters in Brooklyn.
.....“We are in a progressive moment right now,” declared East Harlem Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito, an early endorser of Mr. de Blasio and a leading candidate for council speaker. “This honoree [Mr. de Blasio] represents the culmination of Jon’s tireless, brilliant and visionary work to build our city’s progressive infrastructure and to build coalitions across groups that made our movement stronger … It was this infrastructure that was built that just about a month ago enabled our city to elect its first progressive Democratic mayor in 20 years, our Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio.”
.....Still, Mr. de Blasio reserved much of his praise for NYCC, a community organizing group once known as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. ACORN, which fought for liberal causes like raising the minimum wage and ending predatory lending, disbanded several years ago after an embarrassing scandal dried up its funding streams.

Expert Testifies to Congress that Obama’s ‘Ignoring Laws’ Could Lead to Overthrow of Government | Mediaite:
"On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.

“There is one last thing to which the people can resort if the government does not respect the restrains that the constitution places on the government,” Cannon said. “Abraham Lincoln talked about our right to alter our government or our revolutionary right to overthrow it.”
“That is certainly something that no one wants to contemplate,” he continued. “If the people come to believe that the government is no longer constrained by the laws then they will conclude that neither are they.”

“That is a very dangerous sort of thing for the president to do, to wantonly ignore the laws,” Cannon concluded, “to try to impose obligation upon people that the legislature did not approve.”"

"A Memphis homeowner came face to face with two suspected burglars who broke into his home last week. As he waited for police to show up, he shot down of them as the other ran away, WREG reports.

The homeowner called 911 when he heard the glass of a back room window break. But before officers could arrive, the two suspects were already inside the home and that’s when the homeowner decided to take action.

He shot at the intruders, injuring one of them.

That suspect was later found about a block away and taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition."

House thwarts attempts by EPA to regulate fire hydrants | The Daily Caller:
The House unanimously passed legislation Monday that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from requiring that all new fire hydrants be lead-free by early next year.
Democrats and Republicans rejected the agency’s rule, saying it goes too far.
The EPA issued a guidance in October saying that since fire hydrants are sometimes used to supply drinking water during emergency situations, they are covered under the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act.
....The lead-free requirement would make it difficult to repair or replace fire hydrants — posing a public health risk."

OMG! They've NOT lost Al Jazeera! Fears for the future after Detroit bankruptcy ruling | Al Jazeera America

Not a surprise the propagandists at the Al Queida network are lying and providing heart wrenching stories of woe.
But it isn't the banks who will pay.
It's the citizens of Detroit and Michigan who will get the bill for these thieves.
Fears for the future after Detroit bankruptcy ruling | Al Jazeera America:
Detroit Fire Department retiree Del Williams, who takes five medications daily after heart bypass surgery, is scared that out-of-pocket health care costs will increase, straining an already austere budget. "I'm thinking about getting a side job, but who in this economy is going to hire a 58-year-old?'' he said.
Tony Gilbert, a former DFD captain who retired in 1998, lost his downtown condo to foreclosure late last year, shortly before Orr was appointed Detroit's emergency manager and the prospect of bankruptcy was broached. Health-related expenses for both him and his wife have wiped them out, he said.
"Now this," he said of the ruling. "I'm struggling."
Al Buford, a mail clerk who works in the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, said the ruling was a foregone conclusion. "They already got it mapped out the way they're going to do this," he said, smiling wanly while loading boxes of interoffice mail into a car trunk. "I'm very concerned, but no use losing sleep, I guess."
Alvin Coleman, who works in the city's Water and Sewerage Department, said he doesn't know what's going to happen but believes he'll at least keep his job. "Maybe the city can get back on track now, but I don't know. Nobody knows how bad it's going to get before it starts to get better."
Amru Meah has his own future in mind, and he doesn't like what he sees. The cancer survivor and former buildings and safety engineering employee fears deep pension and health care cuts. "Costs are rising everywhere. How am I going to pay my bills?" he said. "How am I going to make my mortgage payments?"
Meah, 57, retired in 2009 after 32 years on the job. His wife does not work. "When I retired, I determined what my income would be. And now ... I don't know how I will survive," he said, shaking his head. "Maybe I'll file for bankruptcy too."

College ready: A Milwaukee inner-city school success story « Watchdog.org
On Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in inner-cityMilwaukee, home to some of the worst-performing schools in the country, sits a school where, for two years in a row, 100 percent of seniors have been accepted to college.
This year, more than 80 percent have been accepted already.
Many of the students come from single-parent homes, and 97 percent qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. Almost every student attends with financial aid from a voucher.
...Students wear uniforms and are courteous to visitors. The hallways and classrooms are full of reminders of the three pillars: Christ, College, Character.
...Each day, students who master the material receive “exit tickets” allowing them to leave; students who don’t stay after and work with the teacher for extra support. Teachers give their cell phone numbers to students so they can call with homework questions during evenings and weekends. Some teachers meet with students as early as 6 a.m., before the school day starts.

The ruling by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes could help bankrupt San Bernardino in a potential legal showdown with CalPERS over the sanctity of employee pensions.

Girl selling mistletoe for straighter smile is shut down — here’s why | Rare
Those of us familiar with orthodontia know braces aren’t cheap, which is exactly why an 11-year-old Oregon girl decided to sell mistletoe this Christmas season: to help her father with the expense.
But Madison Root’s entrepreneurial endeavor didn’t get any love from city officials Saturday when she went to her local market to sell her bags of freshly handpicked mistletoe wrapped on her uncle’s Oregon farm, reports ABC.
A security guard hired to oversee the public marketplace, however, instructed Madison to stop selling her berry-tipped greenery citing city rules that require vendors have documented approval to sell their goods.

Madison, in an interview with CBS 12 News, pointed out the irony in the situation as a vendor right next to her at the open-air market was peddling signs asking “Got Pot?”

“They’re raising money for pot, and I’m selling mistletoe.”

And, though she was told she could solicit donations without documentation, Madison said she would rather earn her braces.
“I don’t want to beg,” she said. “I would rather work for something than beg.”

Mistletoe orders have snowballed since news of the story broke Sunday, Breitbart reports.
And, as of Monday, Madison has been sporting her new braces.

Auction System Failure Forces US Treasury To Postpone 3, 6-Month Bill Auctions | Zero Hedge:
"While nobody is impressed by breaking equity and options markets anymore, since this has become a virtually daily ocurrence and the habituation level is high, bond markets, and especially the US government's "guaranteed" bond issuance machinery, are a different matter altogether.
Which is why any time something out of the ordinary happens, people pay attention.
Such as what happened moments ago when the US Treasury announced that it would delay the closing of the 3 and 6 month Bill auctions, originally scheduled to close today, to tomorrow.

Nixon vs Obama

Our government at war with its citizens-Why will Obama make it illegal to pay bone-marrow donors?

But Obama wants to force blood banks to pay for blood from homosexuals with high risk lifestyles.
Why it's OK to pay bone-marrow donors - Health - AEI:
"Now comes the bad news.
On Oct. 2, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services proposed a new rule that would overturn the Ninth Circuit’s decision.
The government proposes designating a specific form of bone marrow -- circulating bone-marrow stem cells derived from blood -- as a kind of donation that, under the 1984 National Organ Transplant Act, cannot be compensated.
If this rule goes into effect (the public comment period ends today), anyone who pays another person for donating these cells would be subject to as much as five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
The problem with this rule is that donating bone marrow is not like donating an essential organ.
Indeed, the Ninth Circuit based its decision on the fact that modern bone-marrow procurement, a process known as apheresis, is more akin to drawing blood. "

Was that because Blue Cross knew it would drop many of those money-losing individual policies?"

"Payne, Paxton, Sternhell, et al. argue that while fascist economies share some similarities, there is no distinctive form of fascist economic organization.[2] Feldman and Mason argue that fascism is distinguished by an absence of coherent economic ideology and an absence of serious economic thinking. "NZXT Panzerbox"- The 10 Worst Product Names in PC History

The 10 Worst Product Names in PC History | Digital Trends:
"NZXT Panzerbox
While many names are unfortunate or misleading, there are some that just make us scratch our heads and ask “what does that even mean?”
Such is the case with the NZXT Panzerbox, a squat computer case that was released in 2009.
Is it a box full of Panzers?
Is it supposed to be like the German tank of the same name?
Is it going to blitzkrieg the opposition?
Apparently no one could figure it out, because the the case was abandoned shortly after its release despite some impressive reviews from enthusiast websites like TechPowerUp.
Rest well, Panzerbox – whatever you were supposed to mean."

Ya think? Eligible for Medicaid? Many in Michigan face bureaucratic confusion

Eligible for Medicaid? Many in Michigan face bureaucratic confusion | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
"Across Michigan, hundreds of thousands of residents who may be eligible for the state’s Medicaid expansion remain in frustrating, bureaucratic limbo — one that could push arguably affordable coverage out of their reach if they don’t get answers soon.

Those residents won’t know for sure until next year whether they’re eligible for an expanded Medicaid under the health reform law.
But for many, it could be too late to access tax credits now to make policies more affordable on the Michigan Health Insurance Marketplace, or state exchange."

Good God! We conservatives are quoting a dead democrat!
