No union=BIG job growth-----Aston Martin says Alabama is 'obvious choice' for US plant

Aston Martin says Alabama is 'obvious choice' for US plant:
"Aston Martin is gearing up to be the next foreign automaker to build an assembly plant in the United States – and it looks like it'll be in Alabama.
Speaking with Automotive News Europe, company CEO Andy Palmer said that he and his team will make a decision on the prospect of building its second factory, and that the Yellowhammer State was the "obvious choice" for its location.
The possibility first came up on our radar last month, after Aston reportedly held discussions with representatives of state governments in the South.
The plant would be earmarked to handle production of the DBX.
Slated to be the company's first crossover, it was previewed in concept form at the Geneva show in March..."

What could possibly go wrong?-----Drive-through pot shops in Detroit worry Duggan, others

Drive-through pot shops in Detroit worry Duggan, others:
"With some medical-marijuana stores in Detroit now offering drive-through purchasing, the city's marketplace for medical pot has spiraled out of control and needs to be regulated, Mayor Mike Duggan said.
Dozens of dispensaries line 8 Mile and other major thoroughfares and a Free Press investigation found that at least three offer drive-through service.
With medical marijuana being dispensed in Detroit as casually as burgers and fries, the mayor senses urgency as the City Council prepares to debate next week how to regulate the proliferating industry. Duggan said he supports restrictive zoning that would govern where the dispensaries can be located in relation to schools, churches, adult entertainment establishments and neighborhoods..."

A country of morons-----Poll: Clinton best candidate to defend US from hackers

Poll: Clinton best candidate to defend US from hackers | TheHill:
"Despite the ongoing controversy swirling around Hillary Clinton’s personal email set up while secretary of State, voters still believe the Democratic presidential front-runner is the best candidate to protect the country from cyberattacks.
That’s according to a new poll from Wakefield Research and encryption firm PKWARE.
According to the survey of 1,000 registered voters, 42 percent think Clinton is the White House hopeful “most qualified” to defend U.S. networks from hackers.
...The poll of 1,000 registered voters was conducted Aug. 10-14 using an email invitation and an online survey, with a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points."

Clinton Defenders Now Contend Clinton’s Private Email Helped Keep Information More Secure | TheBlaze.com:

"Numerous federal agencies – including the State Department and White House – have been hacked, while there is no evidence former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server was compromised, a pro-Clinton super political action committee notes in a new report.

Thus, her private server may well have been more secure than if she had kept a traditional state.gov account, according to a 12-page report that seems to reframe the email debacle that has dogged the Democratic presidential candidate for months as almost a public service."

Democrat "justice"!??-----Better that five innocent students get expelled than one guilty student stay enrolled

Better that five innocent students get expelled than one guilty student stay enrolled - The Washington Post:
"The view endorsed by (DEMOCRAT) Rep. Jared Polis (this passage apparently both as to public universities and private universities, start at 1:57:28):
"It seems like we ought to provide more of a legal framework, then, that allows a reasonable likelihood standard or a preponderance of evidence standard [for deciding whether to expel college students accused of sex offenses].
If there are 10 people who have been accused, and under a reasonable likelihood standard maybe one or two did it, it seems better to get rid of all 10 people.
We’re not talking about depriving them of life or liberty, we’re talking about them being transferred to another university, for crying out loud."
This passage was followed by applause from the crowd.
Now I should say that there are certain positions where indeed a whiff of suspicion might be enough to get someone removed.
I just hadn’t thought that being a college student would or should be one of them.
And that’s especially so when the policy is defended on the grounds that the students will just go to another university.
The innocent expelled students would have their education badly disrupted and delayed.
But the guilty students would, by hypothesis, just be at another university, where they’ll be able to attack their classmates (just a different set of classmates)..."

A Muslim "Israel"?!!!-----Migrant Crisis: Where Have the Gulf States Been?

Migrant Crisis: Where Have the Gulf States Been? - The Atlantic:
"Naguib Sawiris, an Egyptian billionaire, tweeted on September 1 that he was willing to buy an island from Greece or Italy to “host the migrants” and not hold back on any financing needed to make it a permanent home.
He even suggested that it can become a new country called Hope
(Though he also suggested it could be “at least temporary until they can return to their countries.”)"
...Part of the explanation might lie in the fear such countries have had regarding migration by “other” Arabs to their lands.
They have sought jealously to safeguard their wealth from possible dilution.
They have also appeared concerned about possible political instability if Arabs from other countries arrive and swamp their relatively small populations.
While Indian or Pakistani guest workers will always remain foreigners because of their linguistic differences with Arabs, Arab migrants speak the same language and can communicate and influence local populations, especially in volatile societies like Saudi Arabia.
Even recognizing all these concerns, though, it remains puzzling why five countries with a combined national income of $2 trillion have not offered credible assistance to solve the current refugee crisis. After all, they have all more or less been involved—directly or indirectly—in the Syrian civil war by virtue of having either encouraged or armed various groups.
