LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:

Process of Enlightenment

By Tammy Derouin

Image result for free clip art light bulbI think most Americans are pretty level-headed. When given the facts and the correct information, most people can make reasonable deductions and good decisions. The problem is so much information is controlled by liberal entities to push a very liberal anti-American agenda. Truth be damned if it doesn't serve their purpose. They make every attempt to drown out anyone who dares to stand in their way. So I always find it interesting and somewhat amusing when individuals allow themselves to be questioned about politics and policy. When individuals are asked to determine which political party endorses certain ideals or carried out certain deeds, it can be an eye-opening or even jaw dropping experience.

When watching such an exchange, a process of enlightenment tends to unfold. Sometimes, there's a certain amount of cockiness, especially if the individual is confident that he truly knows his candidate or party. Throw a little socialism or communist ideology into the mix and it gets even more interesting. Cockiness eventually turns to uneasiness as beliefs, once thought to be true, become blank stares with head scratching uncertainty.

The Democratic Party is getting pretty desperate, so desperate that they are attempting to turn good things into bad things. They want to be seen as coming to the rescue. Somehow this is supposed to make them and their party seem more appealing......

Stone Age Statue Was Too Racy for Facebook - Hit & Run : Reason.com

Album / Oronoz/NewscomStone Age Statue Was Too Racy for Facebook - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
"A pudgy little figure with wide hips and ample breasts, the Venus of Willendorf was discovered in 1908 but originally dates to the Stone Age.
One of the oldest surviving art works in the world, the limestone sculpture now resides in Vienna's Natural History Museum, where a woman named Laura Ghianda snapped a pic last December and then posted the image to Facebook.
It was promptly removed.
A notice from Facebook explained that the naked figure was inappropriate for the social site..."

Parents up in arms after NYPD removes cops from schools | New York Post
"The last NYPD cops assigned full-time to New York City public schools are being moved out — despite nationwide calls for heightened security in the wake of last month’s Florida shootings.
As the nation mourned the 17 victims of the school massacre at Parkland, Fla., the NYPD was removing Sgt. Raul Espinet from his post at Francis Lewis HS in Fresh Meadows, Queens — where he had worked for more than a dozen years.
Parents, teachers and students are livid over the beloved cop’s departure.
“My colleagues think it’s outrageous — and really stupid,” teacher Arthur Goldstein said.
“We’re not enthusiastic about arming teachers, but we liked having a cop around.”...

Obama admin spent $36M on lawsuits to keep info secret - CBS News:

Image result for flicker commons images Obama"The Obama administration in its final year in office spent a record $36.2 million on legal costs defending its refusal to turn over federal records under the Freedom of Information Act, according to an Associated Press analysis of new U.S. data that also showed poor performance in other categories measuring transparency in government.
For a second consecutive year, the Obama administration set a record for times federal employees told citizens, journalists and others that despite searching they couldn’t find a single page of files that were requested.
And it set records for outright denial of access to files, refusing to quickly consider requests described as especially newsworthy, and forcing people to pay for records who had asked the government to waive search and copy fees."

‘Change My Mind’ Takes On ‘Male Privilege,’ And Shows How Divided The Right And Left Are On The Issue | Daily Wire:

"...the latest episode, titled “Male Privilege is a Myth (Second Edition),” acts as a warning against circular reasoning and assumptions.
Image result for moron alertIn the first half of the video, Crowder deals with two female students who base their beliefs on vague assumptions.
However, Crowder has a second conversation with two male students — one black, one Asian — both of whom disagree with the argument the former students were making.
Here’s a partial exchange between Crowder and his first guests, Hannah and Marilyn:
HANNAH: Even if you don't wanna look up the statistics, it's not hard to see how many black men are in jail at larger rates than white men.
CROWDER: Do black men commit crimes at a higher rate than [white] men?
MARILYN: Definitely not. That's just not true.
CROWDER: No?
MARILYN: No.
CROWDER: So, black man do not commit crimes at a higher rate than white males?
MARILYN: No.
CROWDER: Okay, do you have statistics that would reflect that?
MARILYN: I mean, I'm sure I could look them up, but it's definitely not true. It's because racism is built into the system — the system is built against blacks — and that's what racism is. That's why there are more blacks in prison..."

Yes!!-----The World’s First Bionic Kidney Is All Set To Replace Dialysis in Just Two Years

The bionic kidney can be inserted through common surgeryThe World’s First Bionic Kidney Is All Set To Replace Dialysis in Just Two Years
"...The most amazing aspect of the bionic kidney is the advantage it holds over a regular donor kidney. The rejection factor is zero.
The invention consisting of renal cells was unveiled recently as a prototype the size of a coffee cup.
It proved to work efficiently in balancing levels of sodium and potassium and also regulating blood pressure.
The project funded with a $6 million grant from the National Institute of health in 2015 has been well spent in resulting in the world’s first bionic kidney. The success of the prototype of the bionic kidney means that scientists will try their best to progress to human trials later this year.

Image result for flickr commons images Gov. Greg Abbott"In a new ruling, a federal appeals court has upheld most of Texas law targeting sanctuary cities in what some are calling the toughest state-level immigration measure in the country.
Tuesday’s ruling by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans allows police officers in Texas to ask people their immigration status during routine stops.
It also threatens officials with jail time for not cooperating with federal immigration authorities.
Republican Gov.  Greg Abbott quickly took to Twitter to announce that the “law is in effect” and that “allegations of discrimination were rejected.”"

News - Bad Medicine: How Politicians Jack Up Medicaid and Medicare Prices | Heartland Institute
"The other day a reporter asked me to explain why the government cannot negotiate the price of Medicare drugs lower than private drug plans run by pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
...Medicare and Medicaid often lack the political will (and sometimes the legal right) to preclude drugs when the price is egregious.
By contrast, private drug plans run by PBMs at least have the ability to pit one drug in a given class against similar drugs.
This forces the drugs’ manufacturers to compete by bidding lower prices if they want to be included in the formulary of preferred drugs to which plans steer most members..."

Anti-Semitism Draws Close to Official Liberal Orthodoxy - American Greatness

Anti-Semitism Draws Close to Official Liberal Orthodoxy - American Greatness:
Image result for farakkan obama"...Formerly respectable liberal publications like The New Republic and The Atlantic sully their reputations with op-eds hurling baseless allegations of anti-Semitism at Donald Trump, while they fail contemptibly at keeping their own house in order.
Shifting Goalposts
While the liberal intelligentsia has been asleep at the helm, the political center has been pulled sharply leftward.
A Rockefeller Republican like Donald Trump is now labeled extreme for holding positions on, say, immigration that are in line with those of former President Clinton...

  • ...The boycott, divest, and sanction (BDS) movement, whose stated purpose is the economic strangulation of Israel, has become central to left-wing activism.
  • Linda Sarsour, the darling of millennial progressives, in spite (or perhaps because) of her vocal hatred of Israel, was elevated to co-chair of the star-studded 2017 Women’s March. Ironic, given her equally vocal support for Sharia law which, in practice, subjugates women.
  • Hand in Hand with the Nation of Islam Then comes the “Farrakhan problem.” Last year, the Democratic National Committee narrowly and mercifully avoided electing Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) as its chairman, a man whose sordid past includes the adulation and public defense of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.
  • For context, the Nation of Islam’s “prophet,” Elijah Mohammad, once found a kindred spirit in George Lincoln Rockwell, founder of the American Nazi Party, because of their shared hatred for the Jews and support for racial segregation..."

Mexico: Where More Americans Are Murdered Than In All Other Foreign Countries Combined

Mexico: Where More Americans Are Murdered Than In All Other Foreign Countries Combined:
"...Millions of Americans visit the country annually without incident, but, if you heed the most recent government warnings and data, you may want to think twice about heading south of the border.
Image result for killed by homicide in Mexico...Advisories released last month by the U.S. State Department tell Americans not to set foot in five Mexican states — Sinaloa, Colima, Michoacan, Guerrero and Tamaulipas — because of violent crime.
Traveling to those states is as dangerous, according to the State Department's safety ratings, as traveling to Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.
And Americans with plans to go to 11 other Mexican states should “reconsider,” the agency says.
Most recent State Department data may also cause travelers to pause before booking a trip to Mexico. In 2016, according to my analysis of the data, more Americans were reported killed by homicide in Mexico than the combined total of Americans killed by homicide in every other country abroad..."

Daylight Saving Time Is Deadly And Doesn't Save Energy — It's Time To Ditch It | Stock News & Stock Market Analysis - IBD:

"In fact, it's just as likely that daylight saving time costs energy.
Image result for flicker commons images ClocksOne of these studies, published by the prestigious National Bureau of Economic Research, looked at energy use in Indiana, which imposed daylight saving time statewide for the first time in 2006.
Researchers found that residential electricity use in areas of the state that adopted DST for the first time actually increased by 1%.
Another opportunity to study the energy impact of DST came after the change in start dates went into effect in 2007. Researchers looked at energy use in California and found it didn't change at all.
Worse, these nonexistent energy gains come at a terrible price in lost lives,"
