Hillary’s trying to make the election a referendum on political correctness | New York Post

Hillary’s trying to make the election a referendum on political correctness | New York Post:

"Implicit bias is PC drivel. There’s no solid data to support it, cautions social scientists Philip Tetlock of UPenn and Gregory Mitchell of the University of Virginia and experts from New York University and the University of Connecticut. But if Clinton becomes president, we’ll all be undergoing re-education at school or work to cure our “implicit bias.”

To see what President Hillary’s America would be like, look at most college campuses today. Few on campus dare to question Black Lives Matter, militant multiculturalism and “safe spaces” to spare students from challenging ideas.

Hillary’s dictating how Americans talk about race, sex, even body shapes.

Second Group Helping to Resettle Syrian Refugees in Rutland, Vermont Received 91% of its Funding from Government Grants
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 128 pages of documents it obtained from the mayor of Rutland, Vermont, showing a concerted effort by the mayor and a number of private organizations to conceal from the public their plans to resettle 100 Syrian refugees into the small southern Vermont town.
The documents include an April 14, 2016, email from Amila Merdzanovic, executive director of the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, to Mayor Christopher Louras, in which she wrote:
I want to share with you the concern my HQ has about holding a public forum. If we open it up to anybody and everybody, all sorts of people will come out of woodwork. Anti-immigrant, anti-anything. They suggest that the forum be invite only but make it as wide as possible. Work with faith leaders, United Way, etc… Perhaps, we could go back to the Congregational Church and continue the conversation there.
The mayor and resettlement organizations shrouded the plan in such secrecy that not even the town’s aldermen were informed of what was taking place behind closed doors. The aldermen eventually wrote to the U.S. Department of State protesting the plan and opened an investigation into the mayor’s actions. The State Department has not yet ruled on whether it will resettle refugees in Rutland despite the aldermen’s protest.
Handwritten notes state that the issue was, “Not what can ‘we’ do for ‘them,’ but what the diversity, cultural richness do for the community.” The documents contain detailed discussions of what Rutland will need to provide for the refugees – including housing, jobs, medical care, and places for worship.
Judicial Watch received the documents in response to a Vermont Public Records Law request to the office of Mayor Christopher Louras.

CNN needs to stop deceptively editing videos

CNN needs to stop deceptively editing videos | Washington Examiner:
"Creating a narrative through deception won't help victims or change the minds of skeptics.
When people see the media lying to them, it makes it difficult to believe the narrative being crafted.
Take the recent examples of CNN.
The network has now twice edited videos to create alternate narratives in regards to the recent shootings of two different black men by cops.
Just this week, the pro-police group Blue Lives Matter charged that the network deceptively edited video of the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott.
The full video, taken by his wife Rakeyia, featured officers repeatedly telling Scott to "drop the gun." In the video aired on CNN, no such demands were shown.
"The editing was clearly intended to give viewers the impression that Scott wasn't armed.
By intentionally excluding information to promote the false narrative that the officer-involved shooting of Keith Scott was unjustified, CNN directly contributed towards inciting violence and destruction in the Charlotte riots," the group said in a statement.
"Innocent citizens were hurt during the Charlotte riots, but editing like this also incites violence against police officers long after the riots are over."
...In August, CNN also deceptively edited footage of a shooting victim's sister. Sherelle Smith's brother, Sylville Smith, was shot by a police officer (who is also black). Sylville was armed when he was shot. Sherelle told reporters shortly after the shooting that rioters should be "burnin' down" wealthier neighborhoods instead of their own.
"Burnin' down s—t ain't going to help nothin'! Y'all burnin' down s—t we need in our community," Sherelle said. "Take that s—t to the suburbs. Burn that s—t down! We need our s—t! We need our weaves. I don't wear it. But we need it."
CNN ended the clip after Sherelle told her neighbors to stop burning down their own neighborhoods, and added a chyron that claimed she was "calling for peace" when she was in fact encouraging them to take the violence elsewhere..."

Liberal Media Basically Refuse To Cover Recent Wikileaks | The Daily Caller:

"The New York Times, allegedly America’s “paper of record,” has only written five stories about the leaks. None about Hillary saying Saudi Arabia and Qatar fund ISIS, the state department coordinating with the Clinton campaign, or journalists’ coziness with the Clinton campaign. Possibly the reason the Times didn’t cover the latter is because two of their writers were exposed in the leaks for their close relationship with the Clinton campaign."

EPA Expands Power by Calling Farm Furrows 'Mini Mountains'

EPA Expands Power by Calling Farm Furrows 'Mini Mountains' [Michigan Capitol Confidential]: "When farmers plow their land, it produces grooves called "furrows," bordered by small ridges of dirt.
But in pursuit of new regulatory powers, federal agencies refer to the little dirt mounds by another term: “mini mountain ranges.”
That seemingly absurd distinction is being used to impose more federal control over private land use decisions made by U.S. farmers.
...The rule, called “Waters of the United States,” uses the Clean Water Act to give both federal agencies expanded jurisdiction over private land use decisions.
...The rule would allow puddles, tire ruts and standing water to be labeled “disturbed wetlands” and regulated under the Clean Water Act.
The Senate committee report states the rule would allow EPA to get around legal limits to its authority over ditches, draws, low areas, or other wet areas by simply calling them a “regulated tributary” or “wetland.”
The report concludes that if the EPA and Corps interpretations were allowed, “most if not all plowing” would be considered a “discharge of a pollutant” and require a federal permit.
...“The Corps even tries to argue that these newly created small mountain ranges hamper the growth and development of wetland plant species, apparently ignoring the fact that farmlands are managed to produce crops, not cattails,” Hayes said in an email...”

Must read!-----Pronouns, Ordinary People, and the War over Reality

Pronouns, Ordinary People, and the War over Reality | Public Discourse:
"Many years ago, the great British neurologist Oliver Sacks, a man with a flair for subtle observations and the clear prose to describe them, wrote a book about strange cases of mental confusion he had encountered.
Its title seizes your attention instantly: The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.
The title was no joke, nor was the man in question blind.
His eyes registered the colors and the contours of his wife, but his mind had lost the capacity to interpret the messages correctly.
The poor woman had to endure having her husband grasp her head with both hands as if to lift her and place her atop his head.
Today, however, Dr. Sacks’s title might not pass muster before the captains of the current sexual and linguistic guard.
Let me grasp their preferred title with both hands:
The Adult Human Being Who Was Biologically Male but of As Yet Undetermined Sexual Preference and Sexual Identity Who Mistook His or Her or Zis or Xer Committed Life Partner Who Was Biologically Female but Also of As Yet Undetermined Sexual Preference and Sexual Identity for a Hat.
The sane reader will note that the only clear item in that sentence is the hat.
The sane reader will also note that, of the two madmen, the man who mistakes his wife for a hat is as clear in the head as a sunny day by comparison with a person who could conceive of that new and “improved” title.
At least the man who mistakes his wife for a hat still knows what a man is and what a wife is, though he is unclear about where she or his hat might be.
But the person who thinks himself into believing that we cannot tell from ordinary observation who is a man and who is a woman is mad in a special sense.
The first madman's reason is struggling in the fog.
The second madman's reason is gasping for breath, because the second madman himself is throttling it.
Actually, the second madman is doing something even worse than that.
What exactly he is doing I will explain shortly.
First, let me assert that the first madman is the more truly social of the two.
The first madman, after all, assumes that everybody else in the world knows what wives and hats are, and when he speaks about them he takes for granted this common knowledge. Indeed, only common knowledge of objective reality can make language possible...
..Language is not language unless it is communal, and it cannot be communal unless it can refer, quickly and clearly, to the things in front of our noses: to husbands and wives and hats..
...To pretend, therefore, that we do not know what we immediately and urgently perceive is to do violence at once to human nature, language, the possibility of a shared life, and the intellect’s capacity to apprehend reality.
...What she wants is that ordinary people should feel uncomfortable.
She wants to rob them of their ordinary perceptions.
She sows the field of conversation with mines, glad if ordinary people learn to tiptoe around them, but much gladder still when they fail and blow themselves up, because that provides her with the opportunity for more “education,” which means a more aggressive campaign against our common grasp of objective reality and our ability to communicate with ease what we see."

Pepperdine students call Columbus statue 'celebration of genocide'

Pepperdine students call Columbus statue 'celebration of genocide':
"Students at Pepperdine University are calling for the removal of a Christopher Columbus statue from campus, calling it a “celebration of genocide and racial oppression.”
Pepperdine University students spent their day off Monday protesting Christopher Columbus’ “culturally insensitive form of international exploration” and demanding that an on-campus statue of him be removed.
According to The Pepperdine Graphic, at least 40 students gathered around the donated statue Monday to issue a statement to their school’s administration that called the holiday a “celebration of genocide and racial oppression.”
“Columbus does not represent ...the affirmation that students are at the heart of educational enterprise.”
The statement also blamed the statue for prioritizing “nominally esteemed university donors above the cultural acceptance and personal experience of marginalized students” while memorializing “an avoidance from wholly enhancing the inclusivity of Seaver College...”

WATCH: Hillary Staffer Doesn't Know He's on Camera... Okays the Unthinkable:

"A video released by Project Veritas Action revealed just how low some supporters of Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton would go, and it’s surprisingly low — even for Democrats.

The project wanted to see in particular how Clinton staffers would react to hearing that Republican voter registration cards had been destroyed, so a journalist from Project Veritas told Trevor LaFauci, Field Organizer at Florida Democrat Party, that’s exactly what he did. The reporter claimed to have torn up three Republican registration forms."

Welcome to the ‘White Identity Retreat’: The Rise in Student Segregation

Welcome to the ‘White Identity Retreat’: The Rise in Student Segregation - The Daily Beast:
"Racial segregation in higher education is not just a topic confined to history classrooms.
After last year’s protests across the country over racial inequality, more universities have warmed to the idea that students should be segregated by race in clubs, diversity initiatives, housing, and conversations about race.
Come November, the University of Vermont will host a three-day “Examining White Identity Retreat” for students who self-identify as white.
The retreat aims to educate students about white privilege, start a dialogue to combat racism at the university, and “conceptualize and articulate whiteness from a personal and systemic lens,” according to the university’s website.
The University of Oregon is planning similar retreats for January 2017, one for white students and one for white faculty members.
Last June, minority students, faculty, and staff at the University of Wisconsin at Madison’s Multicultural Student Center held separate meetings for minority students and white students to discuss the shootings of African-American men in Missouri and Louisiana.
...More new are the efforts to educate white students about white privilege, and the criticism from both minority students and white students of racially segregated programs.
Concordia University, St. Paul’s annual orientation for minorities backfired recently when a student of color took offense to a letter that said all minority students were “expected” to attend.
Another minority student called the orientation “discriminatory.”...

The perilous whiteness of … pumpkins?

The perilous whiteness of … pumpkins? - The Globe and Mail:
"Hey, you!
You, with the Starbucks pumpkin-spiced latte in your hand.
That ridiculous concoction – with its fluffiness, lack of substance, and triviality – is the ultimate expression of white privilege.
So shame on you.
I learned about the true meaning of the pumpkin-spiced latte in a scholarly paper, called The Perilous Whiteness of Pumpkins.
It was peer-reviewed and published in a genuine academic journal.
Lisa Jordan Powell, its lead author, is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of British Columbia. “Starbucks PSLs are products of coffee shop culture, with its gendered and racial codes,” it warns.
They make up just one part of the “pumpkin entertainment complex, whose multiple manifestations continue the entanglements of pumpkins, social capital, race, and place.”
Ms. Powell (who did not respond to an offer to comment on her paper) is merely one of countless academics toiling in the fertile field of race and gender studies.
I don’t mean to pick on her in particular.
Like everybody else, she must publish or perish.
They churn out this stuff like Halloween candy.

We Shall Fight on the Beaches

We Shall Fight on the Beaches :: SteynOnline
"All this week we're observing the tenth anniversary of my bestselling book America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It by revisiting some of the early reaction.
You can find the first part of this series here, and the second here
For this third episode, here's the "of course" passage that got me in hot water with the totalitarian hacks of Canada's "human rights" commissions:
...Of course, not all Muslims are terrorists - though enough are hot for jihad to provide an impressive support network of mosques from Vienna to Stockholm to Toronto to Seattle. Of course, not all Muslims support terrorists – though enough of them share their basic objectives (the wish to live under Islamic law in Europe and North America) to function wittingly or otherwise as the "good cop" end of an Islamic good cop/bad cop routine. But, at the very minimum, this fast-moving demographic transformation provides a huge comfort zone for the jihad to move around in
...You may vaguely remember seeing some flaming cars on the evening news toward the end of 2005. Something going on in France, apparently. Something to do with – what's the word ? – "youths". When I pointed out the media's strange reluctance to use the M-word vis a vis the rioting "youths", I received a ton of e-mails arguing there's no Islamist component, they're not the madrassah crowd, they may be Muslim but they're secular and westernized and into drugs and rap and meaningless sex with no emotional commitment, and rioting and looting and torching and trashing, just like any normal healthy western teenagers. These guys have economic concerns, it's the lack of jobs, it's conditions peculiar to France, etc. As one correspondent wrote, "You right-wing shit-for-brains think everything's about jihad."
Actually, I don't think everything's about jihad. But I do think, as I said, that a good 90 per cent of everything's about demography. Take that media characterization of those French rioters: "youths". What's the salient point about youths? They're youthful. Very few octogenarians want to go torching Renaults every night. It's not easy lobbing a Molotov cocktail into a police station and then hobbling back with your walker across the street before the searing heat of the explosion melts your hip replacement. Civil disobedience is a young man's game.
Now ponder that bland statistic you heard a lot in the news reports: "about ten per cent of France's population is Muslim". Give or take a million here, a million there, that's a broadly correct 2005 statistic - as far as it goes. But the population spread isn't even. And when it comes to those living in France aged 20 and under, about 30 per cent are said to be Muslim and in the major urban centers about 45 per cent. If it came down to street-by-street fighting, as Michel Gurfinkiel, the editor of Valeurs Actuelles, points out, "the combatant ratio in any ethnic war may thus be one to one" – already, right now. It is not necessary, incidentally, for Islam to become a statistical majority in order to function as one. At the height of its power in the eighth century, the "Islamic world" stretched from Spain to India yet its population was only minority Muslim. Nonetheless, by 2010, more elderly white Catholic ethnic frogs will have croaked and more fit healthy Muslim youths will be hitting the streets. One day they'll even be on the beach at St Tropez, and if you and your infidel whore happen to be lying there wearing nothing but two coats of Ambre Solaire when they show up, you better hope that the BBC and CNN are right about there being no religio-ethno-cultural component to their "grievances"...
