Canada stuck on sidelines as U.S. oil boom creates jobs, curbs emissions | Financial Post

See the source imageCanada stuck on sidelines as U.S. oil boom creates jobs, curbs emissions | Financial Post:
"This year, the U.S. is expected to produce more than 10 million barrels a day, elevating itself to the status of one of the world's largest oil producers alongside Saudi Arabia and Russia.
Oil prices are rallying, but instead of reaping the benefits Canadian oil and gas producers are stuck on the sidelines while their American counterparts are riding them with all they’ve got.
Indeed, a tale of two oil and gas sectors is emerging.
On the Canadian side, the mood is subdued, budgets for 2018 are flat relative to last year, and job creation has taken a back seat to automation..."

Top 10 Shi*holes Nobody Wants to Visit | Trending

Top 10 Shi*holes Nobody Wants to Visit | Trending:

"Unnamed sources are once again claiming president Trump said outrageous things, including calling Haiti and parts of Africa "shi*holes." No one is sure this actually happened, but it sounds true, so the Washington Post ran with it. But it brings up an interesting point. Are we allowed to point out that there are places in the world that are not ideal, or are we pretending all countries are equal? This seems demonstrably ridiculous, yet the left is acting super-offended at the suggestion that some countries are shi*hole-ish.
This doesn't explain why the elite don't vacation in Haiti and Cape Town.
The following is my list of shi*holes I never want to visit, in no particular order.

1. Haiti

A quick search of Haitian vacations found that a person could have a full week in Haiti for $600, airfare included. If that isn't a screaming red flag, I don't know what is. The reason it's so cheap is that you have a high likelihood of never returning. If you don't get murdered, you will probably get a disease.
Major infectious diseases:  degree of risk: very high
Food or waterborne diseases: bacterial and protozoal diarrhea, hepatitis A and E, and typhoid fever
Vectorborne diseases: dengue fever and malaria
Haiti pretty much shows up in the dictionary under "shi*hole."

2. Anywhere ending in "-stan" (or Iran)

Prof creates checklist for detecting white supremacy

Prof creates checklist for detecting white supremacy:
  • An English professor at Linfield College has developed a checklist that is intended to help individuals determine whether they are white supremacists.
  • Believing in meritocracy, promoting a "collegial" environment, and even deciding “to stay out of all of this ‘identity politics’” are all forms of tacit white supremacy, she claims.
...The first item on the lengthy list of transgressions is working “in a position of power in a predominantly white institution” and doing nothing “to change the white supremacist power structures within your departments, committees and institutional decision-making process.”
Likewise, another sign of aiding white supremacy is thinking that marginalized colleagues who complain about oppressive work conditions are “difficult,” and saying “I am so sorry.
This is unbelievable” to colleagues and students who claim “that they experienced microaggressions,” Dutt-Ballerstadt claims..."

Utilities cutting rates, cite benefits of Trump tax reform

Utilities cutting rates, cite benefits of Trump tax reform:
Image result for trump tax cuts"On the heels of companies dishing bonuses of up to $3,000 to over one million workers due to the anticipated benefit of President Trump’s tax reform victory, several major utilities have announced plans to cut rates in a consumer payback related to the lower taxes.
...The taxpayer advocate group Americans for Tax Reform is pulling together the list of utilities expected to apply for a rate cut as it has for more than 100 major firms planning to pay out bonuses, higher wages and increased benefits due to the expected windfall they plan to receive when corporate taxes are cut.
In one announcement typical of those from the utilities sharing their tax benefits, Pacific Power said, “The benefit of this tax cut should be passed on to our customers – and we will work with our regulators and stakeholders on the best way to do that.”
...The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which was signed into law on Dec. 22, 2017 and became effective on Jan. 1, 2018, decreased the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent, reducing the amount of federal income tax ComEd will have to pay. – Jan. 5 Commonwealth Edison Company press release..."

Trump Pushes For More Affordable Health Insurance Choices, And Dems Freak? | Stock News & Stock Market Analysis - IBD
"Health Care: President Trump has taken three important steps that will help make health care more affordable for millions by injecting more choice and competition into the insurance market.
Image result for trump health careThe response from Democrats is illuminating.
In a series of proposed regulatory changes, Trump aims to give consumers options that Democrats want to deny them — options for less expensive insurance that best suits their own health care and financial needs.
...Democrats reacted to these changes with shock and horror, saying they were little more than Trump's way of destroying ObamaCare after he couldn't get it repealed outright.
It's true that these changes won't make ObamaCare more stable, but ObamaCare was failing long before Trump entered the White House.
The question Democrats should have to answer is why are they intent on denying people affordable options in the meantime?...

Chelsea Clinton - the Woman Who Used Embezzled Haiti Disaster Cash to Pay for Her Wedding - Lectures Trump on Haiti

Chelsea Clinton - the Woman Who Used Embezzled Haiti Disaster Cash to Pay for Her Wedding - Lectures Trump on Haiti:
"On Thursday afternoon President Donald Trump asked a group of pro-amnesty senators why the US should welcome migrants from “sh*tholes” like Haiti, Central America or African nations.

It was a good question.

But Democrats, liberal media and global community were outraged that the president would use such an offensive term to describe the global community’s failed states.
Chelsea Clinton decided this was a good time to lecture Trump on Haiti.
Chelsea Clinton reportedly used stolen money from Haiti relief to pay for her extravagant wedding.
But that didn’t stop her from tweeting this out to President Trump.
Mr. President, immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and the 54 countries in Africa likely helped build your buildings. They’ve certainly helped build our country. cc @POTUS https://twitter.com/business/status/951598283218186242
Not only was that an unwise tweet considering her crooked family’s past, it also show’s her complete lack of knowledge of the construction industry..."

FLOTUS Friday And We’re Dealing With Some S**t Around Here
"Well, there’s certainly been a s**t-storm over the President’s observation that maybe we don’t need any more immigrants from s**t-hole countries like El Salvador, Haiti and various African nations.
This seems rather obvious; unless they come with skills-in-hand.
America doesn’t need any more welfare recipients, crime or outbreaks of turd world diseases that we’ve already eradicated once.
Make no mistake: this is why President Trump is considered a racist: he dares believeand say - that opening our country to people coming from crime infested, disease ridden, terrorist harboring countries with no strings attached (skills, knowledge of our culture and willingness to assimilate those values) is unwise...."
