Why Women Prefer Male Bosses - The Atlantic - The Atlantic
Why Women Prefer Male Bosses - The Atlantic - The Atlantic:
"Studies show that when women have a preference, they would choose to have a male boss instead of a female boss.
Participants in one study described their female bosses as “emotional,” “catty,” or “bitchy.”
Where does this aversion to female bosses come from?
And why do some women seem to undercut each other at work?
Read Olga Khazan’s article for more on the psychology of queen bees."

Workers receive bonuses from cut; Pelosi disparages cash as 'crumbs' - Washington Times:
"One trucking-company employee in Georgia who received a $500 bonus said of Mrs. Pelosi on Facebook: “It’s crumbs to her because she has no idea what it is like to work paycheck to paycheck. My company gave everyone $500 and paid the taxes on it and I was very grateful for that because they really don’t owe us any of it.”"

"GREEN MEGA-FLOP: FOSSIL FUELS’ SHARE OF TOTAL ENERGY USE UNCHANGED IN 40 YEARS
Quartz.com here presents an interesting chart which tells us the green energy revolution of the past 30 years has resulted in practically nothing. It’s been a flop. Fossil fuels remain as wildly popular as ever.
Global fossil fuel use as a share of total energy has risen since James Hansen’s 1988 testimony. Chart: Quartz.com.
In the 1970s the big worry was that fossil fuels would soon run out, and so we should “use them wisely”.
But in the 1980s the risk changed to one of an overheating planet, and so we should not use them at all.
But in the 1980s the risk changed to one of an overheating planet, and so we should not use them at all.
Higher than 1988, when James Hansen testified
We can all recall a sweating James Hansen’s 1988 stage-crafted testimony before Congress, warning that increasing atmospheric CO2 concentrations would lead to spiraling global warming.
And unless action was taken urgently, the ice caps would soon melt and the earth would sizzle.
And unless action was taken urgently, the ice caps would soon melt and the earth would sizzle.
Countries as a result mobilized 100s of billions of dollars to eliminate the use of these “dangerous, climate-killing” fossil fuels.
Today for all that money you’d think that tremendous progress in reducing fossil fuels would be the result. You couldn’t be more wrong.

Glyphosate Doesn't Cause Cancer - Neither Do More Toxic Organic Pesticides | Science 2.0:
"...Using data from the Agricultural Health Study (AHS), scholars debunked claims of links between applications of plant protection products containing glyphosate and the occurrence of cancer.
This applied to cancers in general, as well as to special cancer types, such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which activists have hoped to link with the glyphosate assessment.
Claims of a possible association with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) were also not real but it is expected that organic industry front groups like US Right To Know will insist they are important.
So how did IARC create a finding that was so flawed?
They intentionally excluded the Agricultural Health Study, even though data had an additional 11 years..."

Here it comes … the U.N.’s next ‘cheap ploy’
Here it comes … the U.N.’s next ‘cheap ploy’:
"But the Palestinian Authority still has obtained no action “with respect to the creation or existence of a Palestinian ‘State,'” it said.
“Under the U.N. Charter, the General Assembly has no lawful authority whatsoever to create or recognize a ‘state.’ The U.N. does not officially recognize states or declare statehood; such actions are the responsibility of individual governments,” it continued.
“Further, when the states of the world gather together to make decisions as members of the U.N. General Assembly, they are bound by the explicit terms of the U.N. Charter as to what they may do,” it continued, meaning it would be out of bounds for the U.N. to create a “state.”
The letter pointed out even the Palestinians accept that, as Abbas recently “announced … .2017 would be ‘the year of the independent Palestinian state.'”"

Portland State gets $1 million to overcome 'preparation privilege' in computer science - The College Fix
"The National Science Foundation has awarded $1 million to a Portland State University dean and some colleagues in order to “diversify computer science.”

Costco Exposes Seattle's Sugary Drink Tax With the Perfect Sign - Digital Politics Daily
"On January 1, Seattle’s new ‘Sugary Drink Tax’ went into effect.
Why?
Seattle leftists want to dictate behavior and stop people from drinking soda because it can be unhealthy.
So by taxing the soda, they are hoping to deter people from drinking it.
But now, thanks to Costco, customers know exactly how much the city is soaking them for with the tax.
Costco in Seattle put up signs delineating exactly how the tax would cost people and Costco invited people to shop at its warehouse centers outside the city..."
