This doesn't seem too bad for either side.

Selective outrage? Oh my!
Who'd have thought that a hurricane could have high winds and lots of water...and stuff?
I'm Shocked!
Gateway Pundit: Wires: Bush, Chertoff, Nagin & Fats Domino Warned Before Katrina: "Wednesday, March 01, 2006
Today's headline thriller from the AP:
'Tape: Bush, Chertoff Warned Before Katrina'
Who knew?? My goodness gracious! George W. Bush heard it was going to be a big hurricane!! Can you imagine?
Here is some news for the AP...
The whole world was warned before Katrina!!! The AP itself wrote on the Sunday before the hurricane that 'Katrina's storm surge would likely top the levees.' Mayor Nagin told people going to the Superdome should come with enough food and supplies to last three to five days. Bush declared a national emergency. FEMA teams were in place to move in. Emergency assistance was being deployed and national guard troops were being prepared. President Bush personally warned the citizens on the coast.
If the AP wanted to unveil some unreported news they could try this, 'the response to Hurricane Katrina was by far the largest--and fastest-rescue effort in U.S. history.' (via Powerline)
Now, that would be some bold reporting!
Here is what the media and bloggers were saying the Sunday before Katrina hit the Gulf Coast:
August 28, 2005
Katrina Packing Wind of Nearly 175 Mph
Associated Press
Mayor Ray Nagin ordered an immediate evacuation Sunday for all of New Orleans, a city of 485,000 people, as Hurricane Katrina bore down with wind revved up to nearly 175 mph and a threat of a massive storm surge. "
The rest is just as good. What is it with the nutty left?
Just the facts, ma'am
Power Line: Bad Numbers, Part II: "The first is a correction in the New York Times:
Two articles on Saturday about the management deal for six American ports and its political fallout referred incorrectly to the role to be played by Dubai Ports World. It would run some of the terminal operations; it would not own the ports or take over all operations."
Kind of a big mistake, doncha think?
Is this why their reporting is so bad?
DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2005: "NBC White House correspondent David Gregory, who apologized last week for calling White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan a 'jerk,' called into MSNBC's IMUS Thursday morning -- apparently drunk!"
Pretty stupid...and sad. Read the entire embarrassment.
I got a comment!

The AP video does not include footage of Chertoff asking Brown whether he needs any other help or of Chertoff asking whether Brown wants him to approach the Department of Defense. Transcripts show that to both questions, Brown indicated that no additional assistance was needed."

OpinionJournal - Best of the Web Today: "Going for Bloke
Maureen Dowd, who writes a column for a subscription-only Web site and is author of a new book called 'Are Men Necessary?,' has gone Down Under to promote her book--and to go 'man hunting,' reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
'When I was 20,' Dowd tells the Herald, 'I fell in love with an Australian hotel manager in Dublin called Rowan. After that, I wanted to emigrate to Australia but my parents made me go home instead. Now I'm here at last. And if they can take a strong, sassy, saucy woman, Australian men should please apply.'
The Herald invites its readers to apply, and here are some of their comments:
From: SSS
Comment: If she can answer this question I'll let her have me. How many blokes does it take to open a beer can? None. Maureen should of [sic] had it opened when she brought it to me. She better be able to cook and clean also.

The food is very "French", the service is very "Lister" and the evening will likely become a "memory". All for the benefit of her students.

Union head blasts plan to name street after Black Panther: SouthFlorida.com: "A police union official is criticizing a Chicago proposal to rename a street after a slain Black Panther leader who once advocated violence against police officers.
The City Council's transportation committee approved an ordinance yesterday to rename a one-block section of Monroe Street on the city's West Side after former Panther Fred Hampton."
Disgusting!
I remember taking a wrong turn in Chicago back in the 1970s. We were surrounded by black thugs who pounded on my car as we sat at a light. I ran the light out of great fear. A few hundred dollars of damage but we made it out alive. That is the legacy of the black racists.
