"Somebody in the audience interrupts the beginning to ask if they were going to start with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The moderator - stupidly, stupidly, stupidly - says ‘no,’ starts lecturing the crowd on how that was never required in the past… and gets drowned out by the audience getting to its feet and reciting the Pledge over her spluttering."

This video is exactly what Tea Party Americans are all about.

The World Has A Muslim Problem

The World Has A Muslim Problem - Big Journalism
"Jihadist thugs are now attacking us in the name of Islam.

No doubt there are a lot of Islamic believers who don’t support this.

But like the Germans in World War II, they are not speaking up… for good reason of course, as there was a good reason back in the days of the Third Reich.

But because they aren’t speaking up to oppose what is being done in their name, the world has a Muslim problem.

Everybody knows this.

Not many public figures dare to say it out loud. Some public figures don’t want to know it, much less say it out loud."

EMBARRASSING WIDENER: A word needs to be said about the mocking laughter that instantly erupted f…

Instapundit » Blog Archive » EMBARRASSING WIDENER

A word needs to be said about the mocking laughter that instantly erupted from the law students in the audience.

Presumably, that sound meant we are smart and you are dumb.
Where did they learn to treat a guest at their law school — Widener Law School — with such disrespect?
They hooted O’Donnell down, and she never got a chance to explain her point.
What does that say about the climate for debate in law schools?
Not only did they feel energized to squelch the guest they politically opposed, but they felt sure of their own understanding of the law.

I’ve been studying law myself since 1978, and I still puzzle over things and try to work my way through problems.
If a speaker at my school makes a statement that sounds outlandish to me — me with 32 years of studying law — I may display a puzzled expression or a smile, but I hear the person out and entertain the possibility that he has a point and that even if the point is wrong, I will have learned some new perspective on the ways of being wrong or how another human being’s mind works. I try to create that atmosphere in the classroom.

What is the atmosphere at Widener?
Is there no intellectual curiosity?
No love of debate?
No grasp of how complex constitutional law problems can be?

Well, we can only judge by what we’ve seen.

Meanwhile, Cornell lawprof William Jacobson comments: “A literal reading of O’Donnell’s comments reflects that she was correct, but of course, the press and the blogosphere don’t want a literal reading, they want a living, breathing reading which comports with their preconceived notions.”"

RealClearPolitics - Video - Senator Jim DeMint Threatens To Leave Current Republican Party
"'I don't want to be in Washington another six years and watch the Republican party betray the trust of the American people again.

I mean, we had the White House.

We had a majority in the House and the Senate.

We voted for more spending and more earmarks.

Most of our senior members seem to be focused on taking home the bacon.

I'm not going to be in a Republican party like that and that's not what the Republican Party is across America,' Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) told FOX News."

AMERICANS: “So, the economy is pretty bad and there’s high employment. You think you can do something about that?”
DEMOCRATS AND OBAMA: “We can spend a trillion dollars we don’t have on pork and stuff.”
AMERICANS: “No … that’s not what we want. We’d really like you not to do that.”
DEMOCRATS: “You’re stupid. We’re doing it anyway.”
AMERICANS: “That’s not going to help us get jobs!”
DEMOCRATS: “Sure it will; millions of them … though they may be invisible. You’ll have to trust us they exist. And guess what else we’ll do: We’ll create a giant new government program to take over health care.”
AMERICANS: “That has nothing to do with jobs!”
DEMOCRATS: “We don’t care about that anymore. We really want a giant new health care program. We’re sure you’ll love it.”
AMERICANS: “Don’t pass that bill. You hear me? Absolutely do not pass that bill.”
DEMOCRATS: “Believe me; you’ll love it. It has … well, I don’t know what exactly is in the bill, but we’re sure it’s great.”
AMERICANS: “Listen to me: DO. NOT. PASS. THAT. BILL.”
DEMOCRATS: “You’re not the boss of me! We’re doing it anyway!”
AMERICANS: “Look what you did! Now the economy is way worse, we’re even deeper in debt, and we have a bunch of new laws we don’t want!”
DEMOCRATS: “You’re racist.”
AMERICANS: “Wha … How is that racist?”
DEMOCRATS: “Now you’re getting violent! Stop being violent and racist, you ignorant hillbillies! And remember to vote Democrat in November.”
