"Let's see. We have an America-hating Entitlement Junkie, Queen Grievance I, jet-setting around the world during the quasi-depression her husband both exacerbated and prolonged, joined by a few hundred close friends and her pampered brood, feeding their faces and living quite large on our dime, while lecturing us about sacrifice and reminding us of what Barack will and will not 'let us do' with our lives.

What's not to love?"

A Warning Regarding Michigan's $10 Annual "Recreation Passport"

A Warning Regarding Michigan's $10 Annual "Recreation Passport"
"If you're a Michigan driver renewing your license plate, you'll notice a new choice on your renewal form this year:

__YES! I want my Recreation Passport for an additional $10!
__No. This vehicle will not be used to enter state parks and recreation areas.

As a Michigan state Representative, I opposed legislation creating the 'Recreation Passport' because I knew the state intended to use the misleading language above.

Let me be clear, because the state is not:
You can select 'No' and still enter your vehicle into a state park or recreation area.
That is the law.
You will, of course, have to pay a (non-annual) gate fee, but your vehicle is not irrevocably banned for one year as the language above implies."

Isn't it refreshing that we have a US rep. who actually informs his constituents?

John Ziegler Kathleen Parker Doomed At CNN Mediaite
"There is also an interesting secondary element to Parker’s demise which might make media pundits a little more hesitant to attack Sarah Palin.

Since the 2008 election, many of her biggest media critics have found themselves out of a job.
Keith Olbermann, Rick Sanchez, David Shuster, Alan Colmes, Campbell Brown, John Roberts, Larry King, Harry Smith and Parker are all prominently mentioned in my documentary and all of them have been let go from TV jobs since Obama got elected.

Coincidence?
Perhaps, though I have no doubt that if the media wanted to create a narrative here there would be more than enough data to justify it. Regardless, if Chris Matthews is smart, he might want to be careful."

"SALZBURG, Austria — This city is well known as the birthplace of Mozart, the backdrop for the Sound of Music and simply for being a beautiful place.
But thanks to worldwide interest in caffeinated energy drinks and Dietrich Mateschitz's desire to share his love of aircraft and race cars, one of this city's newest places to visit is known as Hangar 7.

Located at the Salzburg Airport, Hangar 7 could be called the Red Bull toy box.
It is where Mateschitz, who co-founded Red Bull in 1987, stores all his coolest toys.
It is a massive glass-enclosed hangar complete with a changing collection of airplanes belonging to the Flying Bulls.
It's also got an assortment of Formula 1 cars sponsored by Red Bull, along with a handful of racing motorcycles as well."

"During visits to several CPS schools over the last few months, the Tribune heard many accounts of students throwing away their lunches.
Others say they opt for 'cookies and slushies' from the canteen or wait to eat until they get home.
And while some kids said they still like their school meals, the vast majority used the same word to describe the food: nasty."

The Lady Doth Too Much

The Lady Doth Too Much Opinion The Harvard Crimson
"Given her unelected status, it is inexplicable that the president’s wife needs her own press secretary, her own chief of staff, or her own staff at all, let alone an agenda for them to implement.

While the First Lady wields no formally-mandated power, the institutionalization of her office confers upon her a degree of influence that no unelected or unappointed citizen ought to have.

A candidate’s spouse does not “run” for First Lady.

In fact, we are frequently urged to keep a presidential candidate’s family off limits and collectively tut whenever anyone is so boorish as to violate this unwritten compact."

Detroit Pistons' Boycott to Remove Coach Highlights Team's Struggles

Detroit Pistons' Boycott to Remove Coach Highlights Team's Struggles - NBA - NESN.com

"ESPN writer Marc Stein reveals there could be a coaching change in Detroit soon, but the players' actions on Friday, who laughed as their coach was ejected, were 'hideous.'
'Pistons gonna get their new coach. HAVE to.

But benched guys laughing after Kue ejection?
After skipping shootaround?
Unforgettably hideous' Stein tweeted.

Last year, the Pistons missed the playoffs for the first time in nine years.
With the current team's record and immaturity, they won't be making it this year either.

See the Pistons laugh after Kuester's ejection in Philadelphia on Friday below."

Even FDR Understood: No Collective Bargaining for Public Servants

Pjamas Media » Even FDR Understood: No Collective Bargaining for Public Servants
"These are the reasons why even an ultimate liberal like Franklin Delano Roosevelt agreed with me that there should be no collective bargaining for public servants.
As quoted by Michael Walsh in yesterday’s New York Post, Roosevelt said:

All government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into public service.
It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public-personnel management.
The very nature and purposes of government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with government employee organizations.
The employer is the whole people."

theblogprof: We're being lied to: GDP economic growth revised sharply lower
"...Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of economic activity, was revised lower to an annual growth rate of 2.8% in the three months ending in December. The initial reading had been for a 3.2% growth rate in the period.

That's a surprising dip, given that economists were expecting the rate to be revised upward to 3.3%."

For example, it noted that in 2009, Virginia ranked 22nd in ACT scores, while Wisconsin ranked 13th. As PolitiFact notes, this claim was originally disseminated by the Wisconsin Democratic Party, which has now retracted it."
