Fla. governor backs limits on bargaining - Washington Times
"Florida Gov. Rick Scott said Monday that fellow Republican Gov. Scott Walker did the right thing by limiting the collective-bargaining rights of state workers in Wisconsin."

On Wisconsin!
On Wisconsin! The Weekly Standard
"What happened in Wisconsin has broad implications.
The state is only one of many that face massive deficits following years of irresponsible spending—in Wisconsin, $3.6 billion over the next two years.
Walker ran for governor last fall on reducing that spending and balancing the budget.
He won with more than 52 percent of the vote.
So he proposed a budget repair bill to begin that process."
Excellent analysis.

Letters: Seek the real truth about Wisconsin MLive.com
Teachers and other public employees have been staging huge protests in the Wisconsin capital in opposition to Gov. Scott Walker’s attempts to take away the right of collective bargaining.
On the comics page, Mallard Fillmore is outraged.
He has nothing but contempt for these protesters.
They are a bunch of vicious, greedy, union bullies carrying signs showing the governor in the crosshairs, and waving posters that say, “Wanted: Walker, DEAD or alive!”
But could it be that those signs were planted by conservative union-haters in order to make the real protesters look bad?
It seemed like a good idea to Mark Williams, a conservative radio personality.
He suggested to his listeners that they infiltrate the protests at the Madison capital wearing SEIU T-shirts. (SEIU stands for Service Employees International Union.)
They should carry signs under their shirts that say rude things like “Screw the taxpayer” and “You OWE me,” and they should pull them out for the cameras.
“Timing is important,” Williams explains, “because they will take them away from us.”
He ends his online post with this optimistic note: “Even if it becomes known that we are plants, the quotes and pictures will linger as de facto truth.”
The real protesters seemed like a mannerly bunch.
My guess is that the signs Mallard Fillmore screeches about were, indeed, plants, but so what?
All it takes is a few Mallard Fillmores to establish the phony signs as “de facto truths.”
How tawdry.

My response:
A quite despicable distraction from an oblivious MoveOn.org believer.
Please Ms. Pastoor, tell us of Mark William's radio show and the station that carries his show.
Please Ms. Pastoor, provide one tiny bit of proof that any disgusting union sign or mindless damage to public property was planted by anyone other the union supporting thugs.
Please Ms. Pastoor, tell us again that the millions of dollars of damage to the Wisconsin state capital and the hundreds of filthy signs were perpetrated on the good citizens of Wisconsin by a non-existent radio host and a cartoon character.
Please Ms. Pastoor!
And to the "professional" at The Chronicle who approved this delusional rant, Shame!

Nuclear Overreactions
Review & Outlook: Nuclear Overreactions - WSJ.com
"But more than other energy sources, nuclear plants have had their costs increased by artificial political obstacles and delay.
The U.S. hasn't built a new nuclear plant since 1979, after the Three Mile Island meltdown, even as older nuclear plants continue to provide 20% of the nation's electricity."
There is no satisfying the environmental left and its leader Obama.
And their willing cheerleaders in the leftist media.
They view people as the enemy.
Every energy source that aids human beings will be opposed.

Stumbles by Gray disillusion many in D.C. - Washington Times
"D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gray has been in office just 2½ months, but his administration already is reeling under allegations that cash payoffs were made during his campaign and that he doled out high-paying city jobs to political friends who were either underqualified or had undisclosed criminal pasts."
Quite simply, DC gets the "leadership" its citizens vote for.
Just as Muskegon, Muskegon Heights and Muskegon county have the "leadership" and "vision" its citizens demand.
The results ought not be surprising.

Progressives promise alternatives to Gov. Rick Snyder's budget in gatherings Monday MLive.com
"Calling it an attack on Michigan families and their future, citizens and leaders of organizations opposed to Gov. Rick Snyder's budget proposals will speak out in gatherings across the state Monday, including one in Grand Rapids.
Progress Michigan says people advocating for seniors, educators and students, workers and other groups form a coalition that will highlight the flaws in Snyder's proposed cuts.
They promise to propose specific reforms they say would 'fix Michigan's broken government.'"
Yikes!
Where is the "advocating" for taxpayers and our children who will have to pay the bills run up by seniors, educators, workers and other groups?

"Talk show host Rachel Maddow recently made Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder the focus of an on-air attack on his policies during a seven-minute tirade on her MSNBC show.
Maddow suggested that Snyder was fabricating a budget crisis to get his agenda through.
Mackinac Center for Public Policy fiscal policy experts Michael LaFaive and James Hohman commented on a half dozen of the statements made by Maddow:"
It's always nice to see the facts from the patriots at the Mac Center.
Not that debunking Mr. Maddow is all that challenging....

West Bank family murdered in their sleep: Palestinians celebrate
American Thinker Blog: West Bank family murdered in their sleep: Palestinians celebrate
"It is a nightmare shared by every family living in a settlement on the West Bank. Early Saturday morning, an unknown number of Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the West Bank settlement of Itamar, southeast of Nablus, and slit the throats of 5 family members.
The shocking attack occurred around 1 am as the terrorist entered the family home and murdered three children aged 11, 3, and a baby girl along with their parents.
The victims were apparently sleeping as the killer came in."

Impounding cars of unlicensed drivers: LAPD limits impounding of cars at sobriety checkpoints
Impounding cars of unlicensed drivers: LAPD limits impounding of cars at sobriety checkpoints - latimes.com
"Under criticism that it was unfairly targeting undocumented immigrants, the Los Angeles Police Department on Friday announced changes to its rules for impounding cars of unlicensed drivers at sobriety checkpoints.
Previously, LAPD officers at such checkpoints followed stringent protocols that called for them to impound a car whenever the driver was found not to have a valid license, regardless of whether the driver had been drinking.
Those rules have drawn the ire of immigration advocacy groups that said they disproportionately targeted undocumented immigrants, who are not able to obtain licenses legally in nearly all U.S. states.
Once a vehicle is impounded, law enforcement agencies often require it to remain locked up for at least a month and charge the owner hefty fees to release it.
The new LAPD guidelines soften the department's stance somewhat.
Police will be required to make an attempt to contact the registered owner of the stopped vehicle.
If the owner is a licensed driver and can respond to the checkpoint in 'a reasonable period of time,' the officers will release the car to him or her.
If the owner is unlicensed, officers will permit another person who is a licensed driver to take the car."
