Worse than Jimmy Carter | New York Post:
"The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Friday job numbers show the nation’s “labor force participation rate” — i.e., the percentage of Americans over 16 who have jobs, or are looking for one — dipped to 63.2 percent.
That beats the sad record of 63.4 percent set in 1978, a harbinger of the Carter-era stagflation and malaise to come.
.......The BLS reports that a record 90 million Americans eligible for work are sitting on the sidelines.
These workers don’t count as “unemployed,” hence the lower unemployment rate."

Navigating ObamaCare Outrage
Review & Outlook: Navigating ObamaCare Outrage - WSJ.com:
"The navigators were supposed to cost $54 million, but the Health and Human Services Department dipped into a "wellness" slush fund to bump that up by 24% to $67 million.
The money will flow to groups like Planned Parenthood, the National Urban League and other community organizers.
HHS regulations don't require background checks for the navigators but do say they must obey security and privacy requirements, without defining what the requirements will be.
Since the navigators will tap into sensitive medical and financial information about individuals, more than a dozen state attorneys general are alarmed about the potential for fraud and identity theft."

Moral Hazard
Moral Hazard | National Review Online:
"Over and over we’re told that if Assad gets away with using chemical weapons it will encourage others to use their WMDs.
This is often said alongside another damning assertion: Assad is only the third dictator to use chemical weapons since they were banned.
The other two are Hitler and Saddam Hussein. The Hitler claim, as Fred discussed, is a bit problematic.
But what about Hussein?
He definitely used them.
But did his use of chemical weapons embolden or encourage others to use them?
Hussein used chemical weapons in 1987 and 1988.
No one else used them again until Assad did more than 20 years later.
Is there any evidence that Hussein’s precedent encouraged Assad?
If there is, I haven’t seen it. "
