Vote buying, crook, democrat ( a redundancy, I acknowledge) bureaucrats dole out billions in tax credits to illegal immigrants

Bungling bureaucrats dole out billions in tax credits to illegal immigrants - Washington Times:
"The federal government’s decision to pay out billions of dollars in tax credits to illegal immigrants likely was made by midlevel bureaucrats and has never received full congressional scrutiny, according to a study that the Center for Immigration Studies is releasing Monday.

The report, written by CIS fellow David North, says the Internal Revenue Service doled out $4.2 billion in what is known as the “additional child tax credit” in 2010 to those using an individual taxpayer identification number, or ITIN, which is usually a signal of an illegal immigrant."

Proponents of Raising the Debt Ceiling Want To Bankrupt Your Kids

Proponents of Raising the Debt Ceiling Want To Bankrupt Your Kids | Jammie Wearing Fools:
"Whether it’s long-term or short-term, proposals to hike the debt ceiling are schemes for allowing the federal government to borrow more money so it can continue to spend beyond its means.
Politicians want to borrow more money because they have spending plans that consistently exceed the amount of money that the federal government takes in as taxes, and that are projected to continue to outpace revenues into the foreseeable future.
Raising the debt ceiling means snowballing debt rolling downhill right toward our children and their children."

Popular sports supplements contain meth-like compound

Popular sports supplements contain meth-like compound:
"A popular and controversial sports supplement widely sold in the USA and other countries is secretly spiked with a chemical similar to methamphetamine that appears to have its origins as an illicit designer recreational drug, according to new tests by scientists in the USA and South Korea.
The U.S. researchers also said they found the same methamphetamine-like chemical in another supplement, Detonate, which is sold as an all-natural weight loss pill by another company: Gaspari Nutrition."

Maher: Obama modulated to the center out of fear of hate

Maher: Obama modulated to the center out of fear of hate | The Daily Caller:
"Maher proposed to his guests that Obama has moderated to the center out of a fear of being “cut out of the picture” as John F. Kennedy was during his presidency.
The claim got an incredulous response from MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews.

It seems like the people like that, Kennedy — they just seem to always, at the end of the day, either somehow get cut out of the picture — violently, or otherwise,” Maher said.
“And maybe that is why Barack Obama is a little more of the centrist than we want him to be.”"

An Economy Buried by Regulations

An Economy Buried by Regulations | Mercatus:
"Part of the reason is that regulations act as a hidden tax on individuals.
If the Department of Transportation sets a higher fuel efficiency mandate for cars, then cars become more expensive, just as if the government imposed a new tax on vehicle purchases.

Another unintended consequence is the stifling of entrepreneurship.
Regulations can create barriers to people interested in selling goods or services or starting a small business.
For example, 17 states require an individual to earn a license to do hair braiding.
To obtain a license in Pennsylvania, you have to train for 300 hours, pass a practical and theoretical exam and then pay a fee.
Barriers such as these give consumers fewer choices, and with fewer practitioners offering their services in a particular field, customers may face higher prices."

Detroit-area group boosts hours of Obamacare 'navigators' as health care sign-ups rise | MLive.com:
DETROIT (AP) — The community health director at Dearborn-based nonprofit organization ACCESS said his staff has helped hundreds of people enroll in plans under the federal health care overhaul and educated thousands about the available options.
That's despite technical problems that have plagued the site and frustrated consumers in Michigan and across the country since its Oct. 1 debut.
""I'm not a politician. ... I'm just seeing it from the human side," said Hammad, whose organization is one of four in Michigan sharing $2.5 million from the federal government to help people sign up for insurance."

BDS | Boycott Divest | Seattle | Israeli Soldier | Israel:
"At a BDS event in Portland, a professor from a Seattle university told the assembled crowd that the Jews of Israel have no national rights and should be forced out of the country.
When I asked, “Where do you want them to go?” she calmly answered, “I don’t care. I don’t care if they don’t have any place else to go. They should not be there.” …
And during a presentation in Seattle, I spoke about my longing for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
When I was done, a woman in her 60’s stood up and yelled at me, “You are worse than the Nazis. You are just like the Nazi youth!”"

The new civility-White vaginas banned for Ivy League Vagina Monologues

White vaginas banned for Ivy League Vagina Monologues | The Daily Caller:
"At this year’s edition of “The Vagina Monologues” jointly staged by Columbia University and Barnard College, the producers have outlawed the vaginas of white students.

The producers unanimously chose to ban white people and their vaginas from participating in the episodic play because they believe white women have been over-represented in past performances, reports The College Fix. They say white women are over-represented in mainstream feminist discourse as well."

Andy Dillon's campaign investigated over handling of $130,000 loan | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
"State election officials are investigating the way Michigan Treasurer Andy Dillon’s gubernatorial campaign handled a $130,000 loan it received in 2010, according to state records.

The issue of the way the loan was handled faces review by state officials as a possible violation of the Michigan Campaign FinanceAct. It is one of several campaign-finance reporting problems that remain outstanding after Dillon’s campaign officials filed new and amended reports in September that were supposed to clear up discrepancies of more than $100,000."

JPAC admits to phony ceremonies honoring ‘returning’ remains - Stripes - Independent U.S. military news from Iraq, Afghanistan and bases worldwide:
"The Department of Defense unit charged with recovering servicemembers’ remains abroad has been holding phony “arrival ceremonies” for seven years, with an honor guard carrying flag-draped coffins off of a cargo plane as though they held the remains returning that day from old battlefields.

The Pentagon acknowledged Wednesday that no honored dead were in fact arriving, and that the planes used in the ceremonies often couldn’t even fly, and were towed into position."

'America needs a white Republican president': Joe the Plumber causes outrage with racist post

'America needs a white Republican president': Joe the Plumber causes outrage with racist post | Mail Online:
Joe the Plumber', the everyman used by John McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign, has sparked outrage with an online comment piece claiming 'America needs a white, Republican president'.
In an article posted to his website on Thursday, Joe Wurzelbacher assured readers that wanting a 'white Republican president doesn’t make you a racist, it just makes you American.'
The controversial post contended that '[i]n the pre-black president era, criticizing the president was simply the American thing to do. An exercise of one’s First Amendment right. Criticism had nothing to do with color, because there had never been a black president.'

The eyebrow-raising opinion piece questioned why nobody accused black people of racism 'when blacks had sanity and disagreed with the policies of racist white Democrat presidents.'
The conservative activist also brought Mexicans into his argument, saying 'many deranged Mexicans' who fight for immigration rights 'are not called racist.'
The scathing post has triggered a social media backlash, with users accusing Republican party member Wurzelbacher of racism.

Something stinks here......A job engine sputters as hospitals cut staff

A job engine sputters as hospitals cut staff:
"Hospitals, a reliable source of employment growth in the recession and its aftermath, are starting to cut thousands of jobs amid falling insurance payments and in-patient visits.

The payroll cuts are surprising because the Affordable Care Act (ACA), whose implementation took a big step forward this month, is eventually expected to provide health coverage to as many as 30 million additional Americans."

Gun grabbers victory sooo close...... California Governor Jerry Brown Vetoes Semi-Automatic Rifle Ban

California Governor Jerry Brown Vetoes Semi-Automatic Rifle Ban
"According to the legislation, it would have classified “a semiautomatic centerfire rifle that does not have a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept no more than 10 rounds as an assault weapon.
The bill would require a person who, between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2013, inclusive, lawfully possessed an assault weapon that does not have a fixed magazine, including those weapons with an ammunition feeding device that can be removed readily from the firearm with the use of a tool, and who, on or after January 1, 2014, possesses that firearm, to register the firearm by July 1, 2015.
By expanding the definition of a crime, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program.”

This was one of seven bills that Brown vetoed.

However, Governor Brown did sign into law 11 gun related laws.
Here’s a list of those bills that were signed by Governor Brown:"

Teachers as THOUGHT POLICE! Fascism="Private/Public Partnership"-A Step Toward Facebook.gov?

A Step Toward Facebook.gov? - Reason.com
Earlier this month Facebook launched a pilot program to give Maryland school officials their own complaint channel to flag content for takedown, with the stated aim of protecting teens from “cyber-bullying” whether in or out of school, a topic on which Maryland recently passed a new law.
As Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler seems to envision things (listen here), the channel will empower Maryland officials to seek takedown of speech that they deem to constitute bullying even if it violates no law: “We’re not going to go after you, but we are going to take down the language off of Facebook, because there’s no redeeming societal value and it’s clearly hurting somebody.”
Libertarians and First Amendment advocates, myself included, have reacted with alarm. Criminal defense lawyer Scott Greenfield:
While Facebook may be a private enterprise, fully entitled to decide what content is acceptable on its platform and similarly entitled to decide that its users will no longer be allowed to write “Suzy is a poo poo head” on the wall, it’s not that simple when the censor is a state actor and the content at issue is deemed offensive not because it violates any law, but because someone is empowered to stifle speech that doesn’t comport with their vision of redeeming societal value, whatever that means.

CBS '60 Minutes' Bob Simon: Detroit reminds me of Mogadishu, Somalia | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
"Speaking by phone Friday, Simon said that of all the places he has visited in more than four decades of reporting, much of it as a foreign correspondent, Detroit reminds him most of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

And Mogadishu is the worst place I’ve ever been,” said Simon, 72.
“Not the worst place in terms of danger, but the worst place in terms of what it looks like.”"

Crew members: ‘Captain Phillips’ is one big lie

Crew members: ‘Captain Phillips’ is one big lie | New York Post:
"All of this is the basis for “Captain Phillips,” starring Tom Hanks as the titular, real-life hero.
The only problem, say some members of the real Capt. Phillips’ crew, is none of it is true.
Capt. Richard Phillips, they say, is no hero, and the film is one big lie.

“Phillips wasn’t the big leader like he is in the movie,” says one crew member, who, for legal reasons, spoke with The Post anonymously.
He worked very closely with Phillips on the Maersk Alabama and was alarmed by his behavior from the beginning.
Phillips, he says, had a bad reputation for at least 12 years prior, known as a sullen and self-righteous captain.
“No one wants to sail with him,” he says."

Dude, ya can't "Bill Clinton" it. Ya gotta inhale and swallow it.....Denver mulls outlawing drifting marijuana smoke

Denver mulls outlawing drifting marijuana smoke - Yahoo News Canada: "
DENVER (Reuters) - The use of recreational marijuana is now legal in Colorado, but if a proposed ordinance becomes law in the state's largest city, pot smokers could face jail time and fines if smoke wafts onto a neighbor's property.
A measure under consideration by the Denver City Council would impose up to $999 in fines and a maximum one-year jail sentence for anyone caught smoking marijuana in city parks or other public venues.
But as written, the law would extend the same criminal sanctions to offenders on private property."

Student loans are up a whopping 61 percent.
Total household debt, according to the Fed's flow of funds report, is at $13 trillion, nearly back to its pre-crisis level in 2007 and a shade below government debt of $15 trillion.

"We have learned nothing.""
