Detroit police are looking for a man who carjacked a woman this morning on the city’s east side and shot a man while trying to get away.
..But, he said, three people witnessed the carjacking and began following the suspect, who jumped out of the moving Traverse, which rolled down an embankment and into the water at the Edison Boat Club near Lycaste and Freud.
After bailing from the Traverse, the suspect got into a gunfight with one of the witnesses, who is a concealed pistol license holder, Woody said.
He said shots were fired, the witness was struck in the arm, and then the carjacker stole the witness’ 2009 blue Ford Focus.
