“God Bless America” Gets Veteran Punished:
"U.S. Army veteran Boots Hawks discovered this disturbing trend firsthand when his employer reprimanded him for included “God Bless America” near the signature line of his email template.
While he immediately complied with his supervisor’s demand to remove the text, Hawks expressed his desire to seek legal advice regarding his rights in the matter.
As a result, Dameron Hospital informed Hawks he would be placed on administrative leave for his supposed insubordination.
Legal experts at the Pacific Justice Institute have taken up his cause and sent a response to administrators at the Stockton, Calif., medical facility.
According to attorney Matthew McReynolds, Hawks has spent a decade working at the hospital, during which time he has been frequently recognized for his work.
He once was even awarded the exclusive title of “Employee of the Year.”"

Michigan, hard-hit Detroit in line to share in $13 billion JP Morgan payout
Michigan, hard-hit Detroit in line to share in $13 billion JP Morgan payout | Detroit Free Press | freep.com: "Some $4 billion of the penalty will be in the form of relief to aid customers who suffered under the actions of JPMorgan, and Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual, which JPMorgan acquired during the height of the fiscal crisis.
The relief will come through programs such as loan modifications, principal forgiveness and blight-reduction efforts like those that are part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Hardest Hit program.
Exactly how much of the money is expected to come Michigan’s way is unknown.
Five Michigan cities — including Detroit, Grand Rapids and Flint — have already received $100 million in federal grant money to help reduce blight under the third phase of HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program."

North Texas Drivers Stopped at Roadblock Asked for Saliva, Blood | NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth:
"It was part of a government research study aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers.
"It just doesn't seem right that you can be forced off the road when you're not doing anything wrong," said Kim Cope, who said she was on her lunch break when she was forced to pull over at the roadblock on Beach Street in North Fort Worth.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is spending $7.9 million on the survey over three years, said participation was "100 percent voluntary" and anonymous.
But Cope said it didn't feel voluntary to her -- despite signs saying it was.
"I gestured to the guy in front that I just wanted to go straight, but he wouldn't let me and forced me into a parking spot," she said.
Once parked, she couldn't believe what she was asked next.
"They were asking for cheek swabs," she said.

Chicago’s mind-blowing $33 billion debt and pension obligations
Chicago’s mind-blowing $33 billion debt and pension obligations
Chicago owes almost $14 billion in outstanding general obligation bond debt, and the city’s pension funds owe $19.5 billion in unfunded obligations to police, firefighters and municipal employees. Combined, the Chicago Tribune reports the Second City owes more than $33 billion.
(Source: Chicago Tribune)
That’s more than four times the nearly $7 billion the city spends every year. And it doesn’t even count the unfunded pension liabilities Chicago Public Schools and other city-affiliated agencies owe.
Decades of city government spending means that in 2039, Chicago will still be paying off bonds from 1993. Some of those repayments, the Tribune said, will be for debts on public housing developments that were torn down more than a decade ago.

Your government LIED to you!!!!! ----Congress will investigate report of faked pre-election jobs data
Congress will investigate report of faked pre-election jobs data | WashingtonExaminer.com: "
The Census Bureau is part of the Commerce, but in 2009 the Obama administration altered the chain of command so that the Census Bureau director now reports to the White House as well as the department secretary. Republicans protested the change, saying that it undercuts the independence and trustworthiness of the Census.
Buckmon, the Post reported, was "not the only one" faking the data. The Post reports that an employee at the Census Bureau, Julius Buckmon, fabricated data for the monthly employment report because he could not reach people to complete the survey.
The Census worker did not cite a political motive, telling the Post he simply needed to fill in the missing information.
Buckmon, according to the Post, is one of the top producers of data for the monthly jobless report, conducting three times as many household interviews as his colleagues.
The Post said Buckmon faked the survey results for the September 2012 jobs report, which was released on October 5, 2012 — a month before the presidential election — and showed a sharp drop from 8.1 percent to 7.8 percent even though only 114,000 jobs were added in September.
Obama touted the shrinking jobless numbers in campaign stump speeches, citing it as a reason voters should give him a second term.

'Out of touch' union members strike over 14.5 percent pay raise | Fox News:
"Taxpayers in Will County, Ill. have offered its public employees a hefty pay raise and are willing to pick up 90 percent of the cost for their health insurance, but that’s not good enough for members of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 1028.
Its 1,300 members went on strike Monday, decrying a “paltry” offer from the county that would have given workers a 14.5 percent pay hike and have taxpayers pay for the overwhelming majority of their health insurance costs.
“That gives an indication of just how out of touch government workers are,” Steve Stanek, a research fellow at the Heartland Institute, told Illinois Watchdog.
“I think they’ve become more radicalized and more out of touch as they have become more unionized.”"

OMG! USA Today finally sees the disaster to come! Rein in reckless public pensions
Rein in reckless public pensions: Our view
One lesson is that public disgust with government — and particularly government spending — includes anger over the unaffordable sweetheart deals that states and localities signed with public employee labor unions, a core Democratic constituency.
..Fueling taxpayers' anger is that they are financing benefits no longer available to most private-sector workers.
Some state and local government workers can retire in their 50s, after 33 years of service, and continue drawing the same income.
Estimates for the total shortfall of public pensions start at about $700 billion.
In 2011, the Congressional Budget Office said that $2 trillion to $3 trillion was more accurate. Even a long bull market won't make the problem go away.

DHS Still Hasn't Fired Black Supremacist Who Called for Mass Murder of Whites - NationalJournal.com
The black-nationalist Department of Homeland Security employee who was placed on leave almost four months ago for running a website that espouses the mass murder of whites has still not been fired, an agency spokesperson told National Journal.
..Kimathi, using the online nom de guerre "the Irritated Genie," called for "ethnic cleansing" of "black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors" on his website, which envisioned a massive race war on the horizon. "In order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites—more than our Christian hearts can possibly count," he wrote.
In other postings, he warned that whites and their enablers like President Obama are trying to "homosexualize" black men in order to make them weaker, and suggested that a woman's primary role in life should be to "keep a strong Black man happy." He also seemed to hold anti-Semitic views, claiming in a Facebook post that his website was under attack from a conspiracy of "zionist smallhats, the Uncle Tom koons," and, naturally, "the haters."
Kimathi, who has been at DHS since 2009, works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and made$115,731 in 2012.

So, who's behind this? Apparently, it's a security researcher named Evan Booth who explains that he sent all of these examples to the TSA. He also explains his response to the obvious question: "but what if the terrorists see these videos?"
That’s a great question. An even better question is: What if they already know all this? All of these findings have been reported to the Department of Homeland Security (TSA) to help them better detect these types of threats. Furthermore, the next time you fly, you’ll be flying as a more informed consumer (and taxpayer, possibly) — one who is more equipped to demand better, more appropriate airport security.Which, of course, is really the point. Pretending that keeping this info secret makes people safer means believing that if you don't know about a security hole it goes away.
