AC Casino Revenue Below $3B; 1st Time in 22 Years - ABC News:
"Atlantic City's casino revenue fell below $3 billion last year for the first time in 22 years, as increasing competition in the northeastern U.S. continued to shrink the market.
....It marked the seventh straight year of plunging gambling revenue for Atlantic City, which won $5.2 billion in 2006.
That was the year the first of what would become 12 Pennsylvania casinos opened, cutting deeply into a market the New Jersey resort town once called its own."

Gimme a break-----Marijuana amnesty boxes going up at Colorado Springs Airport

Marijuana amnesty boxes going up at Colorado Springs Airport:
"Amnesty boxes are going up at the Colorado Springs airport for those who didn't realize that it's illegal to carry pot on a plane.

Under the Colorado law legalizing recreational marijuana, it is legal to leave the drug in a parked car at the airport.
Bringing marijuana inside is, however, prohibited.
Officials are encouraging people to leave their marijuana behind, but they also want to help people who broke the law and don't want to miss their flights.
Installation of the boxes begins on Wednesday.

According to KKTV-TV (http://tinyurl.com/mju3yna ), the ban on pot at the airport applies to both recreational and medical marijuana.
If passengers are caught trying to bring pot onto a plane, they could face up to $2,500 in fines and possible jail time."

7NEWS - CU sociology professor Patti Adler, who teaches deviant behavior class, is retiring - Local Story
"BOULDER, Colo. - A University of Colorado professor who was briefly barred from teaching a course called "Deviance in U.S. Society" says she is retiring.

The Boulder Daily Camera reported Tuesday sociology professor Patti Adler plans to teach the course this semester and again in May and then retire.

University officials ordered Adler to stop teaching the class in December, saying a role-playing skit on prostitution might have created a hostile environment for students who didn't want to participate. The university relented after an executive committee in the sociology department reviewed and cleared the class."

Sarah Palin's father harassed by IRS six times since 2008

Blog: Sarah Palin's father harassed by IRS six times since 2008:
"The problems with a politicized IRS may be far more serious than we have yet suspected. Sarah Palin's brother Chuck Heath, Jr. posted the following on his Facebook account January 11th:
"My father, who worked multiple jobs and faithfully and honestly paid his taxes for fifty years, had never heard a word from the IRS.
In 2008, his daughter was tapped to run for vice president of the United States.
Since that time, he has been, in his words "horribly harassed" six times by the agency.
They've tried to dig up something on him but he's always operated above board."

We allow the voice of al Qaeda into our homes----The Warped Priorities of the American Press

The Warped Priorities of the American Press:
In a shocking development, the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., has put its weight and prestige behind the bogus “news organization” Al Jazeera and its reporters, now jailed in Egypt, for associating with the pro-terrorist Muslim Brotherhood.

A statement issued by the NPC callsfor the “immediate release” of “imprisoned Al Jazeera journalists” in Egypt, but fails to take into account the pro-terrorist nature of this so-called “independent” news organization and its documented links to the Muslim Brotherhood.

NPC President Angela Greiling Keane, whose name appears on the statement, is a reporter for Bloomberg News who mostly covers transportation issues and has no record of expertise in foreign affairs. Her bio says, “She’s written about topics ranging from Chevrolet Volt fires to Toyota’s lobbyist revolving door to the Postal Service buying too many Simpsons cartoon stamps.”

In numerous articles going back several years, Accuracy in Media has documented the ties between Al Jazeera and the Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist organizations. Indeed, anti-Al Jazeera posters had appeared in Egypt saying, “A bullet kills a man, a lying camera kills a nation.” Fear of the channel’s influence among jihadists and its ties to terrorists led the new government to close the channel—after 22 staffers had quit in disgust over its pro-Muslim Brotherhood bias—and then to arrest several remaining staffers.

Al Jazeera is best known to Americans as the voice of al Qaeda before and after 9/11. However, it now has an affiliate, Al Jazeera America, in as many as 50 million U.S. homes, anddemanding even more access to the U.S. media market.

A nuclear South Africa.... "mentored" by Putin?-------------How Putin Conquered South Africa

How Putin Conquered South Africa | Zero Hedge
In the global war for energy supremacy, Russia has won another victory over the United States.
This time, the battleground has been South Africa, where Russia's state-owned nuclear power company, Rosatom, has just signed an agreement to build eight new reactors. Once all of them are operational, South Africa's nuclear capacity will increase more than sixfold - from 1.8 gigawatts (GW) to 11.4 GW over the next 15 years.
This means that Russia will help develop the entirety of South Africa's nuclear energy sector, including financing and training.
And just as importantly, South Africa will be using Russia's nuclear fuel.
Rosatom has been busy signing these types of deals with other foreign countries as well—Finland, Turkey, Ukraine, even the United Kingdom—which guarantees that Russia will be able to keep a stranglehold on these countries' nuclear industries.
The strategy is clear: Rosatom is aiming to become the world's largest supplier of uranium in the coming years.
Remember what we said about the ongoing "Putinization" of Europe's oil and gas; how Russia is planning to leverage its control over Europe's energy to gain political and economic benefits?
The same thing is happening in uranium, except the stakes are even higher—because Putin is now looking to dominate the global nuclear market.
Russia and the former Soviet nations (colloquially called "the -stans") already control nearly half of the world's uranium supply:

"Bring earplugs if you go to the Breslin Center"
"There's just something about the Breslin Center.
There are certainly more nostalgic venues throughout college basketball -- Cameron Indoor, Rupp Arena, the Phog, Assembly Hall, etc.
But I've always enjoyed the Breslin Center. It's one of the country's best home environments. It helps that the Michigan State fan base loves the game. And the love tends to grow in this sport the more a team wins."

The ‘crime’ of the IRS

The ‘crime’ of the IRS | New York Post:
Only days after we learned the Obama administration had appointed an Obama donor to head investigations into the IRS targeting of conservative organizations, we now have a leak from law enforcement saying the FBI doesn’t expect to file criminal charges.
...Without the evidence, we’re not in a position to say. But criminal liability never been our priority. All along our position has been that federal agencies such as the IRS should be held accountable the way the Founders intended: through our democratic system.
.....Maybe the FBI is right, that it’s just all a big misunderstanding, that IRS officials were only at the White House for Easter Egg rolls. Even so, our Constitution doesn’t leave accountability to the judgement of the FBI. To the contrary, our system holds that the American people, through their elected representatives in Congress, have the right to know what their government is doing.
In short, if the threat of criminal charges has in fact been removed, there’s no more excuse for Lois Lerner not to tell us, under oath, what she was apparently afraid to say in May.

Some of Wright’s gems, provided by DiscovertheNetworks.org:
    • “Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run! … We [Americans] believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.”
    • “African Americans don’t run anything in the Capital except elevators.”
    • “We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands [who died on 9/11] in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.”
    • “The government gives [black people] the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people! God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human! God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme!”

Men

By Tracy K. Lorenz
January 14, 2014

I’m quite often accused of writing negative comments about women and their general appearance, most (all) of these complaints came from, not surprisingly, women. So here you go ladies, a column about men written by the most heterosexual guy you’ll ever meet.

One of the big differences between men and women is when women look in the mirror they tend to focus on the negative, a woman could be an absolute goddess but she will invariably see a toad looking back at her. She’ll notice her one hair out of place or a misplaced dimple and her day is ruined. Guys on the other hand always think they look goooood, guys will suck in their gut, do a little flex, and look around for a stick to fend off the supermodels. A guy can look like a squid eating a mayonnaise sandwich but in his eyes Brad Pitt is nothing but a whipped poser.

Speaking of sucking in your gut, that subject came up a lot when talking to women. Surprisingly few find it attractive and even fewer fell for the ruse. “Guts” were put into three very distinct categories:

The Beach Ball: Round and abnormally solid, the beach ball gut seems to grow faster than the skin can keep up, it seems time lapse photos would look almost like Jiffy Pop. Guys who sport the “Beach Ball” tend to come back with incredibly unoriginal retorts involving “tools” and “kegs” when their stomach is mentioned. These men also tend to have disproportionately skinny legs giving them the appearance of a caramel apple.

The Pear: These poor guys always look like they're melting, they have a daily fight with gravity that they will never win. Their stomach doesn’t just face forwards, it sort of envelops them like the fur on Santa’s hat. On the plus side “Pears” tend to be good dancers and can hit golf balls really far, neither of which will help them get a date.

The Beach Walker: Not to be confused with The Beach Ball, the Beach Walker sucks his gut in like he’s running from a chemical spill. What he doesn’t realize is NO ONE is faked out, especially when he lies down, releases his breath, and looks for all the world like an octopus lying on a towel.

But men will go to great lengths to disguise these physical anomalies if need be, according to the women talked to the worst ploy is wearing a giant, thigh length, Sports Jersey. Believe it or not women aren't all that attracted to what appears to be a Red-Wing-Sponsored fumigation tent. Remember in old movies where they’d show a guy with his head sticking out of one of those sweat boxes? You look a little like that.

Another look that women didn’t seem overly drawn to is the newly developed “Duck Dynasty” couture. Here’s the deal, see those raggedy looking Robertson boys in their unkempt beards and camo pants? See how they have hot wives? That’s because…THEY’RE MILLIONAIRES! You, sadly, are not.

Then of course we have the men who wear clothes loyal to a particular brand or product and somehow try to assume a personality based on a motorcycle manufactured in Mexico but “assembled” in Milwaukee or a car brand known as a “Bow-Tie” even though the actual Chevrolet emblem is the exact opposite of a bow tie.

These guys also tend to call their outfits “Gear” because if they paid those inflated prices to advertise a product they aren’t being compensated for and called them “clothes” they’d look a bit feeble minded.

Same goes for the Wal-Mart Wolverines.

But what kills me is when I hear guys comment after women walk by and are out of earshot. Invariably a discussion will start over if the guy would (ahem) “date” the woman. I always want to inject that the argument is moot because not only wouldn’t the woman “date” you, she’d probably mace you faster than Quick Draw McGraw. As near as I can tell all guys think they are attractive to all women all the time.

And that, in a nutshell, is the true beauty of men. We are myopic beasts and ever the optimists. A guy can look in a mirror and see an Adonis where a balding sea-goat actually stands. Hair a little thin? Comb it over! Didn’t take a shower? Wear a hat! It’s like we’re David Blain only NO ONE is fooled by the tricks. There are no stores called “Tim’s Secret,” we don’t wear “Spanx,” and our shoes offer comfort in lieu of style and do you know why? Because we are dreamers, we can look at a rusty car and see its former glory. We know the next great play is just around the corner, the next Hail Mary is floating our way. We've spent years convincing ourselves that we were once great athletes so convincing ourselves we look good is a snap. So if that hot chick who is hopelessly out of our league doesn’t give us a second look that’s her loss not ours because we’re men and our lack of style is just a bitter…reflection.

Omnibus Spending Bill Continues Funding Food Stamp Ads in Mexico

Omnibus Spending Bill Continues Funding Food Stamp Ads in Mexico:

The omnibus spending bill before Congress continues to fund U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) advertising programs for food stamps in foreign countries like Mexico, Breitbart News has learned.

The bill was hashed out between House Appropriations Committee chairman Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY) and Senate Appropriations Committee chairwoman Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD). The funding will continue despite claims in a document the House Appropriations Committee published that the bill contains a “prohibition” on such programs. Page three of this press document states regarding food stamps that the omnibus spending bill contains a "prohibition on advertisements or outreach with foreign governments."
The entire paragraph that contains that statement reads:
Requirements for the Secretary of Agriculture to help weed out and eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the SNAP program – including a directive to ban fraudulent vendors, and a prohibition on advertisements or outreach with foreign governments.
However, upon reading through the text of the bill and the bill summary explanatory document, there is no such “prohibition” included in it. Instead, the explanatory document that Rogers published just states that USDA is “strongly discouraged” from advertising food stamps programs with foreign governments.

The NSA Can't Tell Bernie Sanders If It's Spying On Him, Because That Would Violate His Privacy

The NSA Can't Tell Bernie Sanders If It's Spying On Him, Because That Would Violate His Privacy:
"WASHINGTON -- The National Security Agency has told Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) that it can not answer his question about whether it collects information on members of Congress because doing so would violate the law.

In a letter to Sanders, which was obtained by The Huffington Post, Gen. Keith Alexander, who heads the agency, insisted that nothing the NSA "does can fairly be characterized as 'spying on Members of Congress or American elected officials.'"
But Alexander wouldn't go more in depth than that, arguing that he would be violating the civilian protections of the program if he did."

What would get the media to call it what it really is: a "failure of galactic proportions"?
Though "Obamacare" is the new Edsel".
HHS: 5.6M of 6M Who Signed Up on Exchanges Will Get Federal Funding | CNS News:
In their first three months of operation, the federal and state health-insurance marketplaces created under the Affordable Care Act—AKA Obamacare--have signed up 5,572,305 people who qualify to get federal funding for their health care, either through Medicaid or through an insurance premium subsidy, according to data released by the Department of Health and Human Service.
Those 5,572,305 are part of the “6 million Americans” HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said today have used the exchanges to sign up for health insurance or Medicaid.
However, some of these people, as noted by CNNMoney, were already on Medicaid.
Today, HHS released a report on the number of people who from October through December signed up for health insurance plans through the marketplaces.
The report says that, as of the end of December, 2,153,421 individuals had signed up for private health care plans.
Of these, HHS had data on whether or not 2,082,840 had qualified for federal financial assistance in purchasing their plan.
Of those 2,082,840, some 1,646,237—or 79 percent--did qualify for federal assistance

If they belly up, the taxpayer will borrow the money from China, put it in the kid's tab and pay the moochers.

Bonds captivate $16 trillion of pensions | Crain's Detroit Business:
"Risk off:
"They're taking more equity risk off the table" with fixed-income securities as their funding status improves, Zorast Wadia, an analyst at Milliman, said in a telephone interview. "Pension plans don't want to give back the gains that essentially took over five years to accumulate."

Public and private pension funds in the U.S. added $117 billion of debt securities in the three months ended in September on an annualized basis and sold $135 billion of equities, according to Fed data released on Dec. 9.

The disparity was the greatest since 2008 when comparing third-quarter data on an annual basis.

About 70 percent of companies with defined-benefit plans, or those that provide workers with retirement income based on employment length or salary level, may increase their share of long-term debt securities and other rate-sensitive investments by 2015, based on a November report by Towers Watson, a New York-based pension advisory firm."

University Employee Who Ran Phone Sex, Escort Websites Will Keep Her Job | CNS News:
Maybe the next time they tell us they're out of money and want more of our money...... maybe we'll think twice?
Naaaa.......
"A University of Colorado administrator who was found to be moonlighting as an adult escort will keep her job - even though she had previously been suspended for running a phone sex website during work hours.

Resa Cooper-Morning, the Cultural Diversity Coordinator at the University's Ethnic Studies department, was already serving a suspension for running a phone sex website during work hours.
Now, it appears that Cooper-Morning was also selling her services as an escort through another website called "Fantasy Elite."

On her website, Cooper-Morning specifies certain aspects of her services, including kissing, lap dances and "...pleasurable oil massage that will linger in your mind until we meet again."

Despite this, since it cannot be proven that Cooper-Morning exchanged sexual favors for cash, the university claims it has no standing to fire her.

"The University does not condone Ms. Cooper-Morning's activities,"  said CU Denver Chancellor of Communications, Leanna Clark in an interview with CBS 4 News in Denver.

"But under the law, there are limits on actions that employers can take regarding off-duty conduct of employees.""
