This may be the most frightening event yet. An open and flagrant attack on a political foe---The Persecution of Obama's Political Adversaries: Destroying Dinesh D'Souza
With full knowledge of the MSM, the IRS targets this guy.
Do we want a government that utilizes the IRS as their own, personal Brown Shirts?

The ongoing persecution of Republicans and Conservatives mirrors the attacks by the fascists of Europe on their opponents in the 1930s.
Punishing Obama’s political adversaries claims another victim.
The latest attacks are against Conservative authors and/or groups that share a philosophy based on individual rights.
Dinesh D’Souza is the latest target. D’Souza authored a wildly successful bestseller critical of Obama and directed the 2012 film, “President Barack Obama, “2016: Obama’s America.”

He is charged with directing contributions to an unnamed candidate’s campaign.

Really?
I broke numerous stories and documented millions in illegal campaign contributions to the Obama campaign, but nothing was ever done.
This is so frightening.

America, put down the newly legalized weed that Obama is touting and join us in the fight for freedom.
Riley's Wonder Rope! And the future of our healthcare?

"Riley's Wonder Rope"!
This medicinal rope with the nifty bowline knot has many uses including ending it all if you can't get out of
bed in time to make it to the bathroom.
But the most important use is as my bed-getter-upper.
I grab the sucka and am able to pull myself up so I can wriggle
off the bed, salamander-style, with almost NO pain.
Very cool!
And we got it at Walmart!
Got up this AM with no pain and no fear of the "bed".
So life is fine.
We're going to walk around Breck today.
I've got my laptop so Honeybunch can dump me at the library if
necessary.
Interesting insight into our medical future:
The doc gave me percocet, but only 20.
Scrip says take 2 every 4 hours.
Math says that's less than 2 days worth.

So I'm getting low and call the hospital.
They say they can't refill, I must go to another doc and get the
new scrip.
Soooo, I takemy 1st pills Wed. night. and yesterday I would have
run out.
I still have 8 left.
I still have 8 left.
But if I needed more I'd have to wait for Mon morning and try to
get a doc appt.
I suspect things aren't gonna get a whole lot better with

Teens Sentenced to Jail For Sexual Assault of 13-Year-Old Special Needs Girl, But Won't Go To Jail Until After Graduation:
"Three high school students in Commerce, Georgia are being sent to jail for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old special needs girl, but the judge’s sentence will actually allow them to attend class for the remainder of the school year.
Nicholas Joiner, Timothy Jermaine Clay, and Drashun Upadhyay will all be allowed to attend school but will be forced to go to jail within a week of their graduation in May.
All three East Jackson Comprehensive High School students have been charged with various crimes, including child molestation and even statutory rape for one.
... sexual assault against the 13-year-old girl occurred in December 2012, and even though the perpetrators could begin their sentences now, legal experts say that it’s not uncommon for sentences to be delayed for convincing reasons like high school graduation."

Jackson: Gun owner unarmed, unwelcome in Maryland:
According to Kally and John (but not MTAP, which, pending investigation, could not comment), what happened next went like this:
Ten minutes later he's back, and he wants John out of the Expedition.
Retreating to the space between the SUV and the unmarked car, the officer orders John to hook his thumbs behind his back and spread his feet.
“You own a gun,” the officer says. “Where is it?”

“You own a gun,” the officer says. “Where is it?”
“At home in my safe,” John answers.
“Don't move,” says the officer.
Now he's at the passenger's window. “Your husband owns a gun,” he says. “Where is it?”
First Kally says, “I don't know.” Retelling it later she says, “And that's all I should have said.” Instead, attempting to be helpful, she added, “Maybe in the glove [box]. Maybe in the console. I'm scared of it. I don't want to have anything to do with it. I might shoot right through my foot.”
The officer came back to John. “You're a liar. You're lying to me. Your family says you have it. Where is the gun? Tell me where it is and we can resolve this right now.”
Of course, John couldn't show him what didn't exist, but Kally's failure to corroborate John's account, the officer would tell them later, was the probable cause that allowed him to summon backup — three marked cars joined the lineup along the I-95 shoulder — and empty the Expedition of riders, luggage, Christmas gifts, laundry bags; to pat down Kally and Yianni; to explore the engine compartment and probe inside door panels; and to separate and isolate the Filippidises in the back seats of the patrol cars.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh expressed disgust, though not shock, that the mainstream media ignored an “earth-shattering” story out of Wisconsin that “should have caused a political earthquake.”
The state of Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is “rapidly falling” and the government’s budget ended the year with a $912 million surplus, Limbaugh explained. He says the dramatic turnaround is due in large part to the conservative policies of Gov. Scott Walker.
What’s even more amazing, he continued, is the fact that Walker is going to “rebate the money in the form of tax cuts to the people, who he said own the money.” Limbaugh says the news is “earth-shattering” because, in one of the bluest states, Walker was targeted for removal twice but continued to implement conservative policies that he was confident would help his state — and his strategy appears to be working.
“They did everything they could to gin up hate, anger, tried to destroy his reputation, his career, and his life,” he said. “He hung in there. The state of Wisconsin instituted his policy reforms, de-emphasizing the role of unions in the state.”
“He’s going to cut income taxes and property taxes, and he made the point that it’s not just a gimmick of budgeting or accounting. It’s the result of serious, significant policy changes,” Limbaugh argued.
“Now, folks, what I just told you was not reported once anywhere in what you would consider mainstream media. It was not reported on one cable network, much less all of them. It was not reported in the New York Times, the Washington Post, or the LA Times,” he added. “It was reported in Wisconsin. There was an AP story on it, maybe some local papers picked it up, but just as a filler.”

Both Ruger and Smith & Wesson Will Stop Selling New Guns in California Due to Microstamping Law:
"The California microstamping law was never about reducing violent crimes, it was always about limiting access to firearms.
It looks like they have succeeded. Smith and Wesson has issued an official statement on the matter (see below) while Dan Zimmerman was able to confirm Ruger will also stop offering new semi-automatic firearms in California.
According to the Calguns Foundation, the microstamping law will effectively remove all semi-auto firearms from California’s list of approved firearms in the coming years as well as drastically reduce the number of available firearms this year.
Manufacturers must get their gun onto that list before it can be sold in the state of California."

Sperm Donor To Pay Child Support, U.S. Court Orders | TIME.com:
"What began with a Craigslist ad from a lesbian couple calling for a sperm donor in rural Topeka, Kansas ended in court on Wednesday with a judge ordering the donor to pay child support.
William Marotta claims to have waived his rights as a parent during the process, but Shawnee County District Judge Mary Mattivi maintained that the parties did not enlist a licensed physician, which nullifies his claim to being a sperm donor.
“In this case, quite simply, the parties failed to perform to statutory requirement of the Kansas Parentage Act in not enlisting a licensed physician at some point in the artificial insemination process,” Mattivi wrote in her decision, according to AP.
The case to have Marotta declared the father was filed by Kansas Department for Children and Families in October 2012.
He could now effectively be held responsible for around $6,000 in assistance already provided by the state along with future child support payments."

Pot amnesty box at airport a high priority for sheriff
Pot amnesty box at airport a high priority for sheriff | Aspen Daily News Online:
"Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo said Friday that he hopes to have an amnesty box in place at the Aspen airport, aimed at people unaware it’s illegal to carry cannabis on airplanes, by the time the first recreational pot shop opens in Aspen.
The county on Feb. 12 could approve rules for recreational marijuana, and at least one operator of a medical marijuana shop has said he will be ready to provide recreational pot for non-patients above the age of 21 the next day. Recreational marijuana is already available at a shop in Carbondale.
With that in mind, DiSalvo said he would like to see a drop box installed somewhere in the terminal by then. Akin to what banks use, a container could be installed into a wall to allow bags of marijuana, pipes and other accouterments to be dropped in anonymously before a person heads through security.

It's Not Global Warming: Don't Blame Man For California's Drought - Investors.com
Well, yes, the climate is changing.
It always has.
It always will.
But what's driving the contemporary changes?
Man or nature?
It always has.
It always will.
But what's driving the contemporary changes?
Man or nature?
One plausible explanation is that offered by meteorologist and climate blogger Anthony Watts.
"The cause is the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and a weak to neutral and persistent La Niña pattern that some are calling 'La Nada,'" he wrote last week.
"The cause is the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and a weak to neutral and persistent La Niña pattern that some are calling 'La Nada,'" he wrote last week.
Watts backs his point by citing a 2013 scientific paper published in the journal Climate Dynamics that says "the current southwestern U.S. drought is associated" with "a minimum in the Pacific Decadal oscillation (PDO) index."
Droughts happen.
They are not a new phenomenon that popped up only after man began to pump high volumes of carbon dioxide into the sky.
They are not a new phenomenon that popped up only after man began to pump high volumes of carbon dioxide into the sky.
They predate record-keeping by a few millennia, if not longer.
One of California's driest periods was in 1863-1864 when the state was scorched by the Great Drought. Water Resources lists other "large-scale" multi-year droughts in 1918-1920, 1923-1926, 1928-1935 and 1947-1950.
Others have followed, but what's common to each of these former events is that they preceded what might be called the current global warming era.

Conservative filmmaker behind anti-Obama documentary indicted for violating election law | Fox News
The conservative filmmaker behind a hit anti-Obama documentary was indicted Thursday night on charges he violated federal campaign laws, in what a close colleague is calling a “selective prosecution.”
Dinesh D'Souza, whose “2016: Obama’s America” is the second-highest grossing political documentary of all time, will appear in U.S. District Court in New York Friday.
The indictment states the 52-year-old best-selling author and activist will be charged with one count of illegally donating to a Senate campaign and one count of causing false statements to be made to authorities in connection with the contributions.
FoxNews.com has confirmed that the donation in question was made to Republican Wendy Long, who lost a 2012 Senate bid against New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
D’Souza is accused of directing various donors to give contributions to Long’s campaign totaling $20,000, and then reimbursing them.
Individuals are only allowed to donate a maximum of $5,000 to a candidate per election cycle.

Money for Nothing
Money for Nothing [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
At a press conference Wednesday, Gov. Rick Snyder explained why he wants to give $350 million in state money — which he insists is not a bailout — to Detroit.
Details are lacking, but Gov. Snyder says he wants an "investment" from state tobacco revenue settlement funds to match a generous offer of support from private foundations. He says this would protect Detroit pensioners and the Detroit Institute of Arts collection.
Gov. Snyder says this is not a "bailout" but a "settlement" because a bailout (I am paraphrasing) involves giving money to bankers and not getting anything in return. This seems a bit of a stretch.
Dictionary.com’s second entry on "bailout" reads: "an instance of coming to the rescue, especially financially: a government bailout of a large company." (Emphasis in the original.)
Last week, I listed just some of the reasons Detroit should not be bailed out. Among them, taking precious state resources that could be used for other state spending (road funding, for example) to give to Detroit is fundamentally unfair to all those Michigan residents who were never part of the Detroit equation. It requires statewide residents to give up something of value (future government services or tax cuts) to cover the bad policy decisions and mismanagement of Detroit.

US Pacific Commander Warns "Risks Are Growing" Between China & Japan
US Pacific Commander Warns "Risks Are Growing" Between China & Japan | Zero Hedge:
"While it is becoming increasingly clear that tensions between Japan and China (and in fact most of the Asian nations) are escalating; the fact that Admiral Samuel Locklear - commander of US forces in the Pacific - believes "risk calculations are growing," as the two large powers have a disagreement but are not willing to talk to each other, shows this is more than just talk.
As The AP reports, Washington's treaty obligations to its ally Japan mean it could be sucked into a conflict."

"Unfortunately, our first line of fact checkers, the press, went over to the dark side years ago.
If we would have been paying attention, we would’ve realized the press was no longer a good source of information.
Had we checked out the information ourselves, we would’ve been armed for the next round.
Instead, we’re standing in the middle of the ring, blindfolded with our hands tied behind our back."
