More Startling Information Revealed About The VA Scandal…This Is Worse Than We Thought

More Startling Information Revealed About The VA Scandal…This Is Worse Than We Thought:
"According to Acting Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Sloan Gibson, the number of veterans who potentially died as a result of long delays at VA facilities in Phoenix is more than twice as many as reported last month.
Of the approximately 1,700 veterans VA Inspector General Richard Griffin reported were in danger of being “lost or forgotten” within the department’s bureaucracy and systematic delays, 17 were said to have died as a result. Gibson recently appeared in Phoenix – the epicenter of the VA scandal – for the first time in his current capacity, where he announced another 18 veterans died after their names were scrubbed from waiting list records."

Are heavy trucks getting a free pass in road funding debate?

Are heavy trucks getting a free pass in road funding debate? | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
The House action followed a Free Press report in August that documented how Michigan routinely issues permits to trucks that far exceed Michigan’s already highest-in-the-nation gross weight limit of 164,000 pounds — but charges only $50 for each permit.
That’s far less than what neighboring states charge for overweight permits.
The Free Press also reported that Michigan’s fines for overweight trucks haven’t gone up since 1988.
....“Those that put the most stress on the roads have to pay their fair share,” Lane said. Doubling the overweight permits fees may sound like a big step, she said, but not when the overweight truck might weigh 1 million pounds or more and the permit fee is only going from $50 to $100.

Marijuana is going to the dogs, but it's not your parents' Woodstock weed.
Georgia, a 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is a medical marijuana patient. Kelly Conway, Georgia's owner, takes some heat when she tells friends about the unorthodox treatment.
"People will say they can't believe I'm letting her get high, but she's not getting high," Conway said.
No, Georgia is not ingesting the same kind of pot that Snoop Dogg smokes. (Or New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd eats.) Georgia, along with a growing number of pets, eats hemp-based capsules that contain only trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol — or THC — the psychoactive ingredient that provides the cannabis high.

An airport parking service, Masterpark, “is charging customers an additional 99 cents per parking day,” reported Northwest Watchdog.

Near SeaTac, Seattle also is hiking its minimum wage.

On Monday, the city council voted unanimously to raise the minimum wage over several years until it reaches $15 an hour.

In an Associated Press interview afterward, City Council member Kshama Sawant, a self-described socialist, noted that “$15 in Seattle is just the beginning.”"

Obama last year signed the National Defense Authorization Act, which requires the president to give Congress 30 days’ notice before releasing terror detainee from Guantanamo Bay. That didn’t happen with the Bergdahl swap, which the White House termed an “oversight.”

Nancy Pelosi: Obama Is The Most Non-Partisan President Ever

Nancy Pelosi: Obama Is The Most Non-Partisan President Ever | The Federalist Papers:
Nancy Pelosi either consumes very powerful mind altering drugs on a daily basis, or she deliberately lies…
Via the Washington Times:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that President Obama is the least partisan president she has worked with during her extensive time in Washington, and said the problem lies with the GOP.
“This is as non-partisan a president as I’ve ever served with,” the California Democrat said at her weekly press briefing.
She was asked whether she believes Mr. Obama would be able to work with Republicans if they were able to take control of the Senate and hold the House this November.
She said when Democrats held both chambers under President George W. Bush in 2007-2008 she and her troops were able to work with him on everything from the Wall Street bailout to immigration to energy.

This Is Who Will Pay Fines Under the Obamacare Mandate

This Is Who Will Pay Fines Under the Obamacare Mandate:
.....what of the estimated 4 million Americans who likely will pay a fine in 2016 for noncompliance with the individual mandate?
They make up about 13 percent of the 30 million uninsured Americans projected for 2016, according to CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation. They don’t get a break from the penalty under the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, because they:
  • Live in the United States as legal citizens.
  • Are law-abiding and not incarcerated.
  • Are not members of an Indian tribe.
  • Make enough money to file an income tax return.
  • Make enough money to not be eligible for Medicaid.
  • Make enough money so that potential health insurance premiums would not take up 8 percent of their entire salary.
The penalty becomes more severe each year, starting at $95 per U.S. adult (or 1 percent of taxable income, whichever is greater) this year, progressing to $325 (2 percent of taxable income) in 2015, and reaching $695 (2.5 percent of taxable income) by 2016.

CBO Quietly Drops Forecast That Obamacare Will Cut the Deficit

CBO Quietly Drops Forecast That Obamacare Will Cut the Deficit | The Fiscal Times:
One of the Obama administration's major selling points in passing the Affordable Care Act in 2010 was a Congressional Budget Office forecast that the controversial legislation would reduce the deficit by more than $120 billion over the coming decade.
The CBO has consistently projected that President Obama's overhaul will reduce the deficit, and the agency estimated that the Republicans’ 2011 effort to repeal the legislation would increase deficits by $210 billion from 2010 to 2021.
In April, the agency quietly signaled that it can no longer make that projection; that the law had been changed and delayed so much that there is no longer a credible way to estimate the long-term effects on the deficit of all elements of the program taken together.
In a little noticed footnote to a report updating estimates of the effects of the insurance coverage provisions of the law, the agency headed by Douglas Elmendorf acknowledged that neither CBO nor the Joint Committee on Taxation could determine precisely how scores of provisions other than the insurance coverage would impact long term government spending.

Unions and libs. They destroy everything they touch------New York's Met opera house on edge of precipice

New York's Met opera house on edge of precipice, says Peter Gelb | Music | The Guardian:
"Grand opera is dying along with its increasingly ancient audience, according to Peter Gelb, general manager of one of the grandest operas in the world, the Metropolitan in New York.
The renowned 3,800-seat opera house is fighting a losing battle on many fronts, and could face bankruptcy within three years, he says – and the crisis he sees in his own company could be a warning to many other opera houses.
A long-running dispute with unions, which are threatening strike action, is only one of his many problems.
Box office receipts are flatlining, and seat occupancy was down to 80% in the most recent season, while costs are soaring: the opera recently spent $169,000 (£100,000) on a spectacular poppy field set for a new production of Borodin's Prince Igor."

Black on white crime MUST not be reported as black on white crime!-------------------San Leandro mob attacks prompt ‘wilding’ task force

San Leandro mob attacks prompt ‘wilding’ task force - Crime Scene:
San Leandro police are creating a task force to tackle recent cases of “wilding,” robberies and other attacks said to be committed by large groups of people, including an incident in which a group briefly tried to take a car with a 2-year-old child inside, officials said.
On Monday, a middle school student holding a bag that contained Nike shoes was pistol-whipped and temporarily left unconscious on the 2100 block of East 14th Street, while a second victim was also knocked to the ground and robbed of his iPhone and Nike shoes, said San Leandro police Lt. Rick DeCosta.
About 40 minutes later, a sergeant witnessed the end of an altercation in which a large group of teens had surrounded a car with two adults and a 2-year-old child inside and blocked them from entering a parking lot.
When the victims asked the group to move, they yelled obscenities and told them to “go around.”

Government Union Demands Major Upgrades to Taxpayer-Funded Research Facility

Government Union Demands Major Upgrades to Taxpayer-Funded Research Facility | Washington Free Beacon:
The labor union representing employees at the National Weather Service is demanding major upgrades to a new water resources facility at the University of Alabama, including that each employee have a soundproof office, receive a pay increase, and have access to a community garden.
The National Water Center will soon open on the University campus in Tuscaloosa, after construction was completed in December 2013.
The National Weather Service Employees Organization (NWSEO) has submitted a list of demands to add to the $18.8 million facility before they begin their work.
A list of “National Water Center Proposals” submitted on May 28, obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, reveal the extravagant demands made by the union.
“Cubicles will not be used in the building, each person will have their own office,” the union has demanded. The office walls will be a minimum of 3 inches thick and “insulated with ‘Quiet Batt 30 Soundproofing Insulation.’”
The offices will also be furnished with a desk from the Kathy Ireland Southampton Onyx Collection, have a “Freedom Task Chair with Headrest,” and a 51 inch Samsung television, with a cable package that includes all available news and weather channels.

What a low class moke------Obama chews gum during D-Day ceremonies, sparks Twitter outrage

Obama chews gum during D-Day ceremonies, sparks Twitter outrage - Washington Times:
President Obama was caught on camera chewing gum during the D-Day ceremonies in France as Queen Elizabeth II was welcomed, and Twitter feeds worldwide exploded with criticism.
“Obama and his chewing-gum. Classy” one French user tweeted sarcastically.
“Not very elegant, the Obama attitude in the middle of the ceremony,” another user said, while yet another added, “Is there anyone who will ask Barack Obama to stop chewing on his gum like a cowboy?”
The words “shameful” and “vulgar” were thrown around as social media networks lit up with outrage at Mr. Obama’s display.
“Obama do you want a Coke too while chewing gum while the Marseillaise is being played?” one tweet fumed, in reference to the president’s lack of respect for the French National anthem.

Why Are Obama's Regulators Stockpiling Your Financial Records?

Why Are Obama's Regulators Stockpiling Your Financial Records? - Investors.com
Diversity Police: Republicans are scratching their heads over the Obama regime's privacy-invading "National Mortgage Database Project."
What's it for?
That's easy: redistribution of wealth.
In an unprecedented federal intrusion, the president's most radical financial regulators — Mel Watt of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and Richard Cordray of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — are creating a massive discrimination database on as many as 230 million Americans.
It will encompass a mortgage holder's entire credit history — including credit scores and account balances — and all credit lines, from credit cards to student and car loans.
"Why are we collecting this amount of data on this many individuals?" asked GOP Rep. Randy Neugebauer of the House banking panel.
The key data that the agencies plan to collect involve "household demographics" — namely, "race/ethnicity." The database will be used to compare the credit outcomes of minority vs. white borrowers. Any statistical disparities will be used to make "disparate impact" bias cases against private creditors in a vast redistribution scheme.
.......In their data dragnet, Obama's diversity police will snag your Social Security number and all account numbers. Don't worry about hacking, identity theft or cyberfraud, they assure us. They'll store your personal info in "locked file rooms, locked file cabinets" inside a building with "security cameras" and 24-hour security guards.

Is this simply a government hunting club?--------USDA’s Wildlife Services killed 4 million animals in 2013; seen as an overstep by some

USDA’s Wildlife Services killed 4 million animals in 2013; seen as an overstep by some - The Washington Post
For years, the massive toll of wild animals exterminated by the federal government as a service to everything from airports to ranches has bounced up and down like a yo-yo.
Last year it was up again.
The more than 4 million animals shot, poisoned, snared and trapped by the Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services in fiscal year 2013 included
75,326 coyotes,
866 bobcats,
528 river otters,
3,700 foxes,
12,186 prairie dogs,
973 red-tailed hawks,
419 black bears and
at least three eagles, golden and bald.
But while there’s a list of animals killed, there’s little data showing the cause for each killing, the methods used and the reasons behind mistakes that lead to massive kills of animals that aren’t targeted.

California Legislators Want to Tell College Kids When to Have Sex

California Legislators Want to Tell College Kids When to Have Sex - Hit & Run : Reason.com:

The California state legislature is eagerly jumping into bed with college students but really killing the mood with some unsexy rules.
State Sen. Kevin de Leon (D–Los Angeles) has introduced a bill that would require state universities to set strict parameters on what constitutes consensual sex. According to the text of SB 967, the student initiating sexual contact must establish "affirmative consent," defined as:
an affirmative, unambiguous, and conscious decision by each participant to engage in mutually agreed-upon sexual activity. Consent is informed, freely given, and voluntary. It is the responsibility of the person initiating the sexual activity to ensure that he or she has the consent of the other person to engage in the sexual activity. Lack of protest or resistance does not mean consent, nor does silence mean consent.
Consent must be ongoing throughout a sexual encounter and can be revoked at any time. The existence of a dating relationship between the persons involved, or the fact of past sexual relations between them, should never by itself be assumed to be an indicator of consent.
The bill also explicitly lists several circumstances in which the initiator can be convicted of rape even after obtaining consent:
(A) The accused's belief in consent arose from the self-induced intoxication or recklessness of the accused.
(B) The accused did not take reasonable steps, in the circumstances known to the accused at the time, to ascertain that the complainant was consenting.
