The VA Sacrificed Vets for Solar Panels | FrontPage Magazine:
The VA Scandal began at the Phoenix VA Health Care System where administrators earned promotions and bonuses by shunting patients who needed treatment into fake waiting lists.
As many as 40 veterans had died while waiting for care and 1,715 veterans in the Phoenix VA Health Care System had waited more than 90 days for an appointment.
A retired Navy serviceman died of bladder cancer after being put on a 7-month waiting list after blood was found in his urine.
He finally received an appointment a week after his death.
But each and every year, from 2009 to 2011, the Phoenix VA Health Care System put in solar panels.
The solar panels at the Carl T. Hayden VA in Phoenix cost $20 million.
That $20 million could have saved the lives of dying veterans.
Instead it went to Green Energy.

Yes, Iraq is imploding, threatened by a well-armed and highly motivated terrorist organization, and the White House’s critics are upset.
And this is on top of the president's terribly unpopular decision to trade five Taliban leaders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl (who may or may not have deserted his post in 2009 to join the Taliban), the growing scandal involving the Department of Veterans Affairs and, of course, the September 11, 2012, terrorist attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya.
Each of these events involves several dead Americans, some in the line of duty, some waiting for medical attention and some waiting for reinforcements that would never come.
Very little has been done to find and punish those responsible for these events.

So along comes Tommy Vietor, he of the “dude, that was two years ago" fame, to inform the unwashed masses on Friday that their anger is very much misplaced and that they're croaking on about nothing.
“Iraq is just a ploy to distract you from Bergdahl which distracted you from the VA scandal which distracted you from BENGHAZI. Idiots,” he said in a tweet.

SC Resident Uses Gun to Stop Possible Killing Spree of Recently Released Convict:
...James Hood was Grier’s brother in law, the husband of his sister, Angela. James Hood was also confined to a wheelchair following a recent stroke. The fact that this handicapped man who was Grier’s family apparently meant little to Grier. For reasons unknown to police and the victim’s family, Grier shot and killed James Hood and then fled the scene.
We can thank an armed good Samaritan for what happened next.
There is no telling how many people Grier would have harmed unchecked.
Grier then went to his female cousin’s home and began assaulting her on a neighbor’s front porch. According to WSOCTV, her neighbor heard the disturbance,
“He was beating her on my front porch and he was trying to shove her head through that glass door,” Lowery said.
Grier then chased her across the street to Lowery’s home where she tried to get help.
Deputies said he continued to assault her.
Lowery knew nothing of the homicide, only that a woman was being hurt right at his door.
“I had to help her.
I sure would’ve wanted someone to help me,” he said.
He grabbed his 38 revolver and pointed it at Grier’s head, telling him to stop and leave.
Grier refused after being told repeatedly.
At that point, Lowery tried to retreat into his home to deescalate the situation after learning Grier was armed. However, Grier followed Lowery into his home.
That’s when Lowery opened fire, striking Grier in the stomach.
Apparently being shot subdued Grier (as it normally does) and he waited patiently for authorities on Lowery’s porch.
Grier is currently being treated at an area hospital under police guard according to The State.
Lowery will not face any charges in the shooting as he clearly acted in self defense.
It’s entirely possible Grier would have killed his cousin followed by an unknown number of people if he wasn’t stopped by Lowery and his trusty .38 revolver.

Veteran IT Professional Gives Six Reasons Why the IRS’ Claim That It ‘Lost’ Two Years of Lois Lerner’s Emails Is ‘Simply Not Feasible’ | TheBlaze.com:
A veteran IT professional tells TheBlaze that the IRS’ claim that the agency lost two years’ worth of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s emails is “simply not feasible.”
On Friday, members of Congress revealed that the IRS would not be able to hand over Lerner’s emails to and from other IRS employees from January 2009 to April 2011, possibly due to a “glitch” or “crash.” Lawmakers were seeking the emails as part of their investigation into the IRS targeting scandal.
Norman Cillo, an Army veteran who worked in intelligence and a former program manager at Microsoft, argued it is very difficult to lose emails for good and laid out six reasons why he believes Congress is “being lied to” about the Lerner emails:
1. I believe the government uses Microsoft Exchange for their email servers. They have built-in exchange mail database redundancy. So, unless they did not follow Microsofts recommendations they are telling a falsehood. You can see by the diagram below that if you have three servers in a DAG you have three copies of the database.
2. Every IT organization that I know of has hotswappable disk drives. Every server built since 2000 has them. Meaning that if a single disk goes bad it’s easy to replace.
3. ALL Servers use some form of RAID technology. The only way that data can be totally lost (Meaning difficult to bring back) is if more than a single disk goes before the first bad disk is replaced. In the diagram below you can see that its possible to lose a single disk and still keep the data.
4. If the server crashed (Hardware failure other than disks), then the disks that contain the DATA for the Exchange database is still available because the server hardware and disks are exchangeable. Meaning that if I have another server with the same hardware in it, I can put the disks in and everything should boot right up.
5. All email servers in a professional organization use TAPE backup. Meaning if all the above fails, you can restore the server using the TAPE backups.
6. If they are talking about her local PC, then it’s a simple matter of going to the servers which have the email and getting them from the servers. If the servers have removed the data you can still get them by using the backups of the servers to recover the emails.
However, Cillo, who has been working in IT for roughly 16 years and is currently a consultant for a tech company, said it’s possible the IRS is telling the truth if the federal agency is “totally mismanaged and has the worst IT department ever.”
Other than that, it’s just not “feasible,” he told TheBlaze.
“If the IRS’ email server is in such a state that they only have one copy of data and the server crashes and it’s gone, I’ve never heard of such a thing.”
“I don’t know of any email administrator that doesn’t have at least three ways of getting that mail back,” he added.
“It’s either on the disks or it’s on a TAPE backup someplace or in an archive server.
There are at least three ways the government can get those emails.”

Causes of Death in 1900 vs. Today: One Chart Puts Firearms & Natural Disasters Threat in Perspective
......In light of the federal government’s drive to enforce stricter environmental regulations for the reason of combatting man-made “climate change,” it should be said that 98% fewer people are dying from extreme weather events or natural disasters than in the 1920s.
Extreme weather events currently comprise about 0.07% of all fatalities globally.
We’re also being told about the danger posed by law-abiding citizens possessing firearms.
But where is that threat on this chart?
Let me help you: It’s not there.
.....Since we live in a nation where many don’t get enough exercise and many eat a lot of fatty foods, a lot of people are dying from not moving around enough and/or eating too much food.
Want to talk about “first world problems.”
There’s been hysteria about guns, natural disasters, non-organic foods, vaccinations, SARS (oh wait, that was a few years ago), pig flu (off again, shoot), killer bees, hysteria about hysteria – it has been getting really ugly out there.
We would never accuse bureaucrats or the media of drumming up public paranoia just for more taxpayer bucks or to boost political authority.
Let’s just say their “awareness raising” lacks context.

Obama Even Worse Than We Thought
"President Obama spoke on Iraq earlier today, pledging to do nothing and essentially saying nothing, even as that nation is breaking apart, with Islamic militants overrunning Iraq and vowing to capture Baghdad.
In light of the unfolding disaster in Iraq, which is linked to the unfolding disaster in Syria, which is part of a broader failure in the Middle East, which is only one part of an across-the-board failure in foreign policy, which is separate from the failures at home–including healthcare.gov and ObamaCare more broadly, chronically high unemployment, the stimulus and “shovel ready jobs,” a historically weak economic recovery, the lowest workforce participation rate since the 1970s, increasing income inequality, and record poverty–the following needs to be said.
Even those of us who were highly critical of Mr. Obama early on, who twice voted against him and worked in campaigns to defeat him, could not envision how epically incompetent he would be.
The harm this man has done is immeasurable.
And he still has more than two years left to go.
Mr. Obama belongs in a category all his own."

Solar Flares Disrupt Communications on Earth, Could Send Shockwave on Friday the 13th
Solar Flares Disrupt Communications on Earth, Could Send Shockwave on Friday the 13th - ABC News
The sun has had three major solar flares on its surface in the past two days that have affected communications on Earth and could send a shockwave through Earth this Friday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The “solar events” caused brief blackouts in high frequency communications when they struck, twice on Tuesday morning and once this morning, all between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. EDT.
Solar flares are bursts of radiation on the sun’s surface.
The disturbance to Earth’s atmosphere can disrupt GPS and communications signals, according to NASA.
One of the flares created a “coronal mass ejection” that actually could come into contact with Earth on Friday, according to NOAA.
The ejection is essentially a huge cloud of plasma that could hit the Earth and cause a shock wave, affecting communications systems.
If an ejection were to hit Earth on Friday, scientists expect it would only cause a minor geo-magnetic storm, according to NOAA.

Drunk, liberal, drug counselor kills man. Blames him. -------------Woman who drove with dying man on car gets 55 years in prison
Woman who drove with dying man on car gets prison - Yahoo News
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A substance-abuse counselor was sentenced Thursday to 55 years to life in prison for hitting a pedestrian with her car and driving through a Los Angeles suburb with the dying man on her windshield.
A jury earlier this year convicted Sherri Lynn Wilkins, 53, of second-degree murder, driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
Prosecutors said Wilkins' blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit when she struck 31-year-old Phillip Moreno in November 2012 as she was leaving a counseling center.
She drove 2 miles through the city of Torrance before other motorists swarmed her car at a traffic light and kept her there until police arrived.
Moreno was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Superior Court Judge Henry Hall said, "Ms. Wilkins demonstrated an extraordinary callousness in fleeing the scene and trying to shake Mr. Moreno's body off her car.
This is a callous murder, not an unfortunate act."
....Wilkins, who was a drug addict before she became a drug and alcohol counselor, contended she wasn't drunk that night.
She claimed she was "self-medicating" while waiting for knee-replacement surgery and had consumed three single-serving bottles of vodka and a can of Budweiser beer and Clamato before starting to drive.
...Outside court, Whitfield said, "Nobody likes a drunk driver.
Because she was a drug and alcohol counselor, she's held to a higher standard."

"One well-known type of this surveillance equipment is known as a Stingray, an innovative way for law enforcement to track cellphones used by suspects and gather evidence. The equipment tricks cellphones into identifying some of their owners’ account information, like a unique subscriber number, and transmitting data to police as if it were a phone company’s tower. That allows police to obtain cellphone information without having to ask for help from service providers, such as Verizon or AT&T, and can locate a phone without the user even making a call or sending a text message."

12 Numbers About The Global Financial Ponzi Scheme That Everyone Should Know
12 Numbers About The Global Financial Ponzi Scheme That Everyone Should Know | Zero Hedge
The numbers that you are about to see are likely to shock you.
They prove that the global financial Ponzi scheme is far more extensive than most people would ever dare to imagine.
As you will see below, the total amount of debt in the world is now more than three times greater than global GDP.
In other words, you could take every single good and service produced on the entire planet this year, next year and the year after that and it still would not be enough to pay off all the debt. But even that number pales in comparison to the exposure that big global banks have to derivatives contracts.
It is hard to put into words how reckless they have been.
At the low end of the estimates, the total exposure that global banks have to derivatives contracts is 710 trillion dollars.

-$1,280,000,000,000 - Most people are really surprised when they hear this number. Right now, there is only 1.28 trillion dollars worth of U.S. currency floating around out there.
-$17,555,165,805,212.27 - This is the size of the U.S. national debt. It has grown by more than 10 trillion dollars over the past ten years.
-$32,000,000,000,000 - This is the total amount of money that the global elite have stashed in offshore banks (that we know about).
-$48,611,684,000,000 - This is the total exposure that Goldman Sachs has to derivatives contracts.
-$59,398,590,000,000 - This is the total amount of debt (government, corporate, consumer, etc.) in the U.S. financial system. 40 years ago, this number was just a little bit above 2 trillion dollars.

The surprising winners of Obama's student-loan program
The surprising winners of Obama's student-loan program | WashingtonExaminer.com:
Students who took out big loans for graduate school and those with higher incomes stand the most to gain financially under President Obama's expansion of the federal government's loan forgiveness program.
Lawyers, doctors and other highly trained professionals who utilized federal loans throughout their post-high school education could walk away with most or all of their graduate school debt forgiven by the federal government under the program, say experts.
“You can roll it all into one balance and it has a really powerful effect,” said Jason Delisle, director of the Federal Education Budget Project for the New America Foundation, a nonpartisan think tank.
“The chances that you will fully repay your grad school debt are very slim.”
Obama on Monday signed an executive order that expands to as many as 5 million people a program allowing federal student loan holders to cap monthly payments at 10 percent of adjusted gross income.
The program also includes debt forgiveness after 10 years for those who work for 501(c)(3) non-profits or in the public sector.
For those in the private sector, they can stop paying off their loans after 20 years.

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration has been quietly advising local police not to disclose details about surveillance technology they are using to sweep up basic cellphone data from entire neighborhoods, The Associated Press has learned.
Citing security reasons, the U.S. has intervened in routine state public records cases and criminal trials regarding use of the technology.
This has resulted in police departments withholding materials or heavily censoring documents in rare instances when they disclose any about the purchase and use of such powerful surveillance equipment.
Federal involvement in local open records proceedings is unusual.
It comes at a time when President Barack Obama has said he welcomes a debate on government surveillance and called for more transparency about spying in the wake of disclosures about classified federal surveillance programs."
..."It's troubling to think the FBI can just trump the state's open records law," said Ginger McCall, director of the open government project at the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
McCall suspects the surveillance would not pass constitutional muster.
