"Obama promised a “transformation” of America, a nation dedicated to individual freedom and liberty, and it has taken this long for many to realize that his definition of transformation was an ever-increasing Big Government to control every aspect of our lives:
- the education of our youth who lack knowledge of civics, math, and science.
- the deprivation and reduction of access to vital sources of energy.
- the refusal to protect U.S. sovereignty by ignoring our immigration laws and border security
- the reduction of our military power to levels rivaling pre-World War Two
- the failure to resist the growth of Islamic fanaticism
- the historic and dangerous increase of our national debt
- the failure to take fundamental steps to revive the economy by cutting taxes and reducing regulations
- the destruction of our market-based healthcare system"

In Great Lakes States, Union Retribution Fizzles
In Great Lakes States, Union Retribution Fizzles [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
In December of 2012, in the aftermath of Michigan’s Republican Legislature passing a right-to-work law, thousands of union members from around the state participated in a teleconference where their leaders promised “retribution” against the GOP.
One union member wondered if Democrats took control of the Legislature, “Could we shove it right down their throats?”
Al Garrett, president of Michigan AFSCME Council 25, shot back: “If we were to change the composition of both houses, where we were the majority and had the governor, no question we would be able to get rid of it right away. … In November of 2014, we vote to change the composition of those bodies. … We will not forget the folks who did this to us.”
Garrett said the union would “make sure we identify the folks who did us in and get them out of office.”

In Michigan, the day after the November 2014 elections, those threats ring hollow.
....Similar scenarios played out in Wisconsin and Ohio, where GOP governors won elections after making major labor reforms that upset unions in those states.
...In Ohio, led by GOP Gov. John Kasich, the Legislature passed Senate Bill 5, which also limited public sector union collective bargaining privileges. Unions scored a victory in 2012 when the law was overturned in a referendum.
...But on Tuesday, Walker, Kasich and Snyder all won re-election after challenging the power of their states’ union establishments.

The Obama administration may be covertly allowing Iran's nuclear program to enrich more uranium than in initial agreements, a state-approved Iranian website said Wednesday - amid reports that he is looking to bypass congressional approval for a full-fledged nuclear deal.
According to the report, the White House has allowed Iran to enrich uranium by operating 6,000 centrifuges - 2,000 more than initially reports last month.
And that is after Obama has slowly raised the centrifuge threshold, it said - from 500 to 1,500 and finally to 4,000 - in a series of negotiations.
...The size of Iran’s centrifuge inventory is a key sticking point in deal talks, with experts saying that the total centrifuge count is close to 10,000.
Iran, for its part, has drawn a "red line" at maintaining enough centrifuges to produce enough uranium for 38 A-bombs per year.

The Liberal Ticket
"There’s new hope for some much needed change. Many Democratic candidates have been distancing themselves from the disasters of the Obama administration. When asked if they voted for Obama or his policies, you begin to wonder when you landed in the theater. The lights seem to dim as the first act begins. A long winded monologue by the candidate attempts to explain the situation without actually telling you anything. The second scene moves a little quicker as slippery sidetracking causes the candidate to stumble over props. As the scene unfolds you begin to realize the props are liabilities; created by the candidate for following the party line."
The theater never disappoints. The art of comedy and tragedy are both painful and amusing to watch.

Obama issues no statement on GOP victory, doesn't feel repudiated by voters - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.com:
"On Tuesday, Barack Obama and the Democrats were dealt a crushing blow as Republicans took the Senate, increased their lead in the House and won governorships of states generally considered to be reliably "blue."
But in a move seen as spiteful, Obama decided not to issue a statement -- not even to congratulate Republicans for their win.
"No official reaction from WH to GOP taking control of Senate," said CNN's Jim Acosta.
"Nothing more expected tonight, per officials."

But the New York Times -- the paper that recently published an op-ed saying mid-term elections should be done away with -- didn't wait that long.
The election, seen by many as an overwhelming rejection of Obama and his policies, was not viewed that way by the president, the New York Times said.
According to the Times, Obama believed the electoral map was "stacked against him" in a way that made Democrats the underdog to begin with.
Worse yet, his own Party rejected him, refusing to bring him on the campaign trail.
Nevertheless, an aide said Obama "doesn’t feel repudiated.""

Alabama Joins Wave of States Banning Sharia Law
Alabama Joins Wave of States Banning Sharia Law | Pamela Geller, Atlas Shrugs:
"Alabama has become the seventh state to ban Sharia law via a ballot measure that prohibits its courts from considering foreign, international or religious law.
With 79 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, the ballot measure, called the “American and Alabama Laws and Alabama Courts Amendment,” passed overwhelmingly with 72 percent of voters in support.
The ban clarifies the state constitution to say that other state laws or foreign law cannot be used in ways that violate state law or rights under the Alabama Constitution or the U.S. Constitution.
In 2012, an unsuccessful ballot measure, also proposed by Republican state Sen. Gerald Allen, would have explicitly banned state courts from implementing Islamic Shariah law.
The Latest State to Try to Ban Foreign Law in CourtsSix states have similar foreign law bans, with North Carolina’s enacted most recently last year.
The others are Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, South Dakota and Tennessee.
Missouri also passed a measure banning foreign law last year, but Gov. Jay Nixon vetoed the bill because of its potential impact on international adoptions.
Oklahoma’s voters approved a ban, which explicitly referred to Sharia law, in 2010. But this year, it was struck down by a federal appeals court for being discriminatory.
Still, the issue has permeated across the country:
All but 16 states have considered such a measure in the past five years."

The Biggest Winners and Losers of 2014 « Commentary Magazine:
Losers:
The most obvious loser is President Barack Obama for whom this midterm must stand as a personal repudiation even if he chooses to pretend that is not the case. Whether he chooses to try and work with Congress or tries to govern on his own with executive orders of questionable legality, the lame duck period of his presidency begins now.
....She wasn’t on the ballot yesterday, but the likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took a hit as much as any other member of her party. The scope of the GOP win and the inability of her party to generate an Obama-style turnout without the president on the ballot should chill Democratic optimism about the next national election. So should the failure of the Clintons to help Democratic candidates around the country.

"Indisputably, the Democrats had a terrible night.
But the 2014 losers least likely to regain ground in future elections are marijuana prohibitionists. Oregon and Alaska just became the third and fourth states to legalize the drug.
Washington, D.C., voted for legalization, as did the city of South Portland, Maine.
The island territory of Guam chose to allow medicinal marijuana.
And while Florida voters defeated a constitutional amendment legalizing medicinal weed, it required 60 percent support to pass and received roughly 58 percent of the vote.
