It Only Takes Two Minutes for Ted Cruz to Explain Why He’s Against Net Neutrality | Video | TheBlaze.com:
“The worse thing that could happen is letting a whole bunch of politicians come in and regulate every aspect of what you’re doing,” Cruz said.
The reason the Internet has had the dynamism, opportunity, freedom and diversity it’s had, he added, is because the government hasn’t “plagued” it with many regulations.
“The innovation is happening without having to go to government and say ‘Mother, may I?’ What happens when the government starts regulating a service as a public utility is it calcifies everything and freezes it in place,” the Texas Republican said."

Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage and, basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever. But basically that was really critical to getting the thing to pass."

Alternatively, he can keep lying about not having lied, but only the hardest-core of partisans will believe him. On the tape, this so-called “activist” tells a group:

The people on West Florissant look like me and they’re with it. So… I really don’t have anything to protest on West Florissant. So if I’m in the area I’m going to Ferguson Police Department.”
Make no mistake: while the Tea Party has been labeled as “extreme” and called every dirty name in the book, the far left views violent class warfare and the deepening of racial divides as vital to the success of their agenda.

Second Amendment advocates are concerned that the Obama administration will use a United Nations treaty as a basis for executive action on gun control.
The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty is set to take effect on Christmas Eve.
Though the United States delegation to the U.N. has supported the treaty, it has very little chance of being ratified by two-thirds of the Senate.
But there is still reason for concern, said Catherine Mortensen, spokeswoman for the National Rifle Association.

But there is still reason for concern, said Catherine Mortensen, spokeswoman for the National Rifle Association.
“We are worried about an end-run around Congress,” Mortensen told TheBlaze. “Barack Obama or a future anti-gun president could use ATT and international norms compliance to rationalize enacting gun control policies through executive actions, especially in the import and export realms.”“Even now, with an existing appropriations rider prohibiting action to implement the treaty unless it is approved by Congress, administration officials are publicly professing support for international efforts to bring the treaty into effect. That’s outrageous,” she added.
The U.N. General Assembly adopted the treaty in April 2013 with a vote of 154 to 3.
The State Department points out that only Iran, Syria and North Korea opposed it.

A consultant considered an architect to the federal health care law who said a “lack of transparency” and “stupidity of the American voter” were critical to getting it passed reportedly received $481,050 from the state of Michigan, and a recently elected state representative said he wants an investigation.
Jonathan Gruber, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor who created an econometric model intended to project health care spending and costs under different assumptions, along with his team, was granted a $481,050 contract by the state of Michigan, according to the Washington Post. He was paid that to help set up state health-insurance exchange under the federal Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The Washington Post reported that Gruber received similar payments from three other states, but Michigan paid the consultant $81,050 more than any other state.
Gruber was paid the $481,050 even though the Michigan Legislature did not authorize creating a state-level exchange. In 2012, the Senate approved legislation authorizing one but the House declined, with the result that Michigan currently has an exchange run by the federal government.

California is one of several states that employs prison labor to fight wildfires.
And it has the largest such program, as the state’s wildfire problem rapidly expands arguably because of climate change.

Refugee resettlement is a euphemism for importing whole Muslim communities, importing jihad. I have long documented the targeting of gateway cities (smaller cities) overwhelmed with Muslim refugee immigration from countries like Somalia — cities like Emporia, Kansas, Nashville, Greeley and Fort Morgan, Colorado, Lewiston, Maine et al. The over-saturation and drain on city resources has driven these immigrants northward to settle in Wyoming, according to these reports.
Organizations like Lutheran Family Services profit enormously from the Federal government handling these refugees.
The sharia compliant enemedia, like Wyoming’s Tribune Eagle, attacks critics of mass refugee immigration into Wyoming as “bigots.” Shocka.

Abby Snodgrass was at a Wal-Mart in High Ridge last Wednesday as a baby stopped breathing, KSDK reported.
'I was in the dressing room and I heard them call for the emergency over the radio,' Snodgrass said in an interview with the affiliate station.
'They said "No pulse, no breathing."
And I just ran over there.'
'She did not look like a normal baby, she didn't look alive,' Snodgrass told KSDK.
'And once I saw that no one was doing anything I asked if anyone knew CPR.'
Snodgrass, who attends Hillsboro High School, also said of her CPR training
'It was just a couple months ago in my health class.'
Speaking about the CPR, she told KSDK
'I was terrified. I remember thinking as I'm doing the compressions, what if this doesn't work?
But I had to put it out of my mind.'

Japan slides into recession as tax hike takes toll - Houston Chronicle:
"TOKYO (AP) — Japan's economy unexpectedly shrank in the third quarter as housing and business investment declined following a tax hike, dragging the country into a recession and further clouding the outlook for the global economy.
The world's third-largest economy contracted at a 1.6 percent pace in the July-September quarter, the government said Monday, contrary to predictions it would grow after a big drop the previous quarter. The surprise deepens uncertainty when China's growth is slowing and the 18-country eurozone grew only 0.2 percent in the same quarter.
The gross domestic product figures showed across-the-board weakness in demand among consumers, manufacturers and builders.
Many individuals and companies had spent money before the sales tax was hiked in April from 5 percent to 8 percent, and spending has languished since then.
"The impact of the sales tax was much more severe than expected," said Junko Nishioka, an economist at RBS Japan Securities."

Dearborn's "finest"-----UAE Designates Two American Muslim Groups As Terrorist Orgs
UAE Designates Two American Muslim Groups As Terrorist Orgs | The Daily Caller:
The United Arab Emirates has officially designated 83 groups as terrorist organizations, including two based in the U.S., the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim American Society.
UAE’s cabinet made the announcement following a meeting on Saturday.
Other groups designated as terrorists include al-Qaida, al Nusra, Boko Haram and the Muslim Brotherhood.
CAIR’s designation is interesting given its high profile here in the U.S.
The group was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case in 2007. Leaders of the Holy Land Foundation were found guilty of aiding Hamas, which the U.S. has designated as a terrorist organization.
Starting in 2008, the FBI adopted a strict policy against dealing with CAIR in its investigations.
Last year, the Department of Justice inspector general issued a report showing that the FBI had in some instances failed to maintain that arms-length requirement.

"New studies" are gonna be common. Doncha ya think?--------Think Twice Before Choosing Knee Replacement
Think Twice Before Choosing Knee Replacement - NYTimes.com:
For someone whose knee is sore and creaky, the prospect of replacing it with a new, metal-and-plastic version of the joint can be beguiling.
The surgery seems so easy and to promise so much: better mobility, less pain, an approximation, almost, of youth.
But there is growing evidence that knee-replacement surgery may be too seductive — and that many people considering the procedure would be better served to first try other ways to improve their knees.
There’s no doubt that knee replacements are increasingly popular.
More than 600,000 such surgeries were performed in 2012, compared with about 250,000 just 15 years ago.
But some new studies suggest that people may be electing to have the procedure prematurely and, perhaps worse, gaining limited benefit
